Ash's view

I was sitting in a yellow living room with Era, I was sat on the sofa and Era was on a chair. He then said something that blew my mind, I guess that I should have seen it coming though… maybe…

"I'm heading to a school?" I asked shocked.

"Yep." Era said.

If you're wondering, I am the 100th descendant of Era Eclipse, meaning the hybrid gene is active in me. I, like Era am a mix of almost all entities. I am not partially vampire, mummy, witch, werewolf, demon, necromancer or god, unlike Era who is partially a necromancer making him immune to death. I am however a balance of many other gene pools, making me one of the deadliest entities on the planet. I have an I.Q. of 537, yet, Era says I need to go to school.

"Why Grandad, why?" I asked.

Yes I call him grandad. What do you think I should call him: a stream of 98 greats and then saying grandad? Oh hell no!

"I am not home schooling you, you need social interaction, and you need to see the outside world a lot more. Your 17, do something with your life?!" He said, agitated.

"Like what? Go to a club? Start a company?" I asked, a little angry.

"No. I mean school. And you're going whether you like it or not." Era said.

"Dammit." I shouted.

"Sorry bud, but I promised your mother I'd take care of you and your going to that academy regardless of what you say and or do." Era said.

"You mean, I will have a dorm?" I asked.

"you should be sharing a dorm with those that are of the same gender as you." Era said. "Unless things have changed since then…"

"Well that means lots of socialising. That's excellent." I said that last part sarcastically.

"Look, I know you may not like this, but frankly, you don't get an option in this, you're going whether you like it or not." Era said.

"Really?" I asked, challenging him.

"Do you want to go to the nightmare zone?" He asked.

"I'll go." I said quickly.

"Good." I said.

Era walked away and picked up a phone, he started to play one of his favourite fighting games. (no not fortnite or pub g, he literally destroyed them.)

"Oh, ps: Gary, Serena and Misty will be there." Era said.

"Sounds good." I said.

"Gary is in your dorm too." Era said.

"OH COME ON!" I shouted.

There was a brief silence between me and Era. We stared at each other.

"How do you know all this?" I asked.

"Teachers would tell parents and or guardians about living arrangements." Era said shortly.

"Okay." I said.

"And you need to get ready for the academy. Freeze time and then pack anything that you need." Era said.

1 week later.

We were in the car, driving to the academy. Era had been a little unhappy about driving slower than he was allowed, but we could not risk me being expelled. (yes this school is cruel.)

"I see it." Era said happily, pointing his left hand to the building. "Ash, welcome to tgyudru hi-ke which is hybridian for supernatural high.

"Cool." I said. "Oh hey look, it's Gary."

We were now right next to the school.

"Well then, I guess this is it. One last thing though." Era said.

"Yes." I said.

"Do not tell anyone about your hybrid powers. Not a soul. If they find out, it's cool I guess but it is important it is kept secret. Only those who already know can be talked to." Era said. "Ka peesh?"

Is that how I spell it?

"Yes Era." I said.

Era gave me a hug and then I exited the car.

"Good luck boy'o!" He shouted.

Then Gary walked up to me in his arrogant, odd style

"Hey Ashy boy!" Gary shouted.

"Gary." I said nodding. "Where are Serena and Misty?" I asked.

"They'll be here soon enough. So how's life?" Gary asked.

"I can only talk to you, Serena and Misty about my hybrid troubles since we all are in the same boat." I said.

I looked at my cousin and then heard a beep.

"Serena is here!" Gary shouted seeing my cousin (also his cousin) walk into the school.

"And Misty." I said seeing her blue, fish patterned car roll in.

Misty is also my cousin, but she only has water and ice hybrid powers. A common phenomenon with hybrids when their human ancestry has been in contact with one or more types than any other. Gary and I are both descendants of Era, but Gary is not very powerful at all. Serena and Misty are descendant of Shadow, Era's brother. This makes us all cousins. Serena, like me and Gary can use all types, even one only Era can use called mystic. Serena and Misty walked up to us before using the traditional form of hybrid greetings which is putting their hand out to the receiver, the receiver shakes it and then they flash their eyes to another colour, usually blue (male) or pink (female). No Era, Star and Shadow did not come up with this. It was rut-su-ru, a hybrid known for being unconventional with battle and language.

"Hey guys, how are you?" Misty asked.

"Great." Gary said.

"Never better." I said. "You girls?"

"Well, it turns out that the teachers know we are related to Shadow and Era, and they made a donation of 138.4 billion poke dollars to the school, so we are sharing a dorm with six bedrooms, bathrooms, a giant living room, and kitchen oddly enough." Serena said. "So I am happy."

"Wait, really? This could be like a 1980's earth sitcom… like friends!" Misty said. "Or is it 1990's?"

"1990's." Serena said.

"Two more people and we're set. They'd have to be a boy with a younger sister though so then it is like an almost exact replica of friends." Gary said.

"Why is this place called supernatural high?" I asked.

"It is apparently built near where monsters like vampires and werewolves and mummies lived." Misty said. "What a load of rubbish right?" Misty asked, booming with laughter for a short period of time.

"Very unlikely to be a threat if true, but maybe we should pay attention then." Serena said.

"Yeah. Don't wanna be haunted, right?" Gary asked jokingly.

"Good one Gary!" I shouted.

We all burst out laughing now, high fiving and then heading to the main office where we would get our time tables, dorm keys, and any other necessary things.

Dawn's view

I walked into the school, gipping a golden ring on my middle finger tightly. Some would ask why, but this ring, protects we from otherwise deadly sunlight. I read the name of the school, must be a hybridian name by looks. I started scanning around for my friends, outcasts like me. Supernatural monsters like mummies, werewolves and me…

I'm a vampire.

There is one of each in my group of friends. As I walked around to find them, I saw two boys and girls greet each other in a strange fashion. They seemed deep in conversation. I only caught the end of it though.

"It is apparently built near where monsters like vampires and werewolves and mummies lived." The ginger haired girl said. "What a load of rubbish right?" She asked, booming with laughter for a short period of time.

"Very unlikely to be a threat if true, but maybe we should pay attention then." The blond haired girl said.

"Yeah. Don't wanna be haunted, right?" The brown haired boy asked jokingly.

"Good one Gary!" the black haired boy shouted.

Imagine how they'll feel when they know how wrong they are. I snickered a tiny bit. To be fair to them though, it is an urban legend. True, but a legend. Most people think that too so I can't blame them. I must admit that the black haired boy looks nice. Those four seem very close, I guess they have known each other for a long time. I almost wish I could join their group but I'm a vampire: my blood cravings would conquer me and I would wind up stealing their blood. The black haired boy…

I'm going to follow him. It helps that I am a newbie here too.

I saw that my friends weren't here yet so I followed him.

They went to the main office to get their timetables and dorm keys. I decided that I would get mine too, as a way of fitting in so they would not realise I am stalking them, but then the boy surprised me a little.

"Alright, why are you following us?" He asked.

I stopped cold in my tracks, I was sure I was discreet, but frankly I was not a hidden as I thought. I saw them all turn towards me with disapproving looks on their faces.

"Well? We haven't got all day." He said impatiently.

The trees rustle in the wind almost as if they were asking me the same question.
