'Eloi, Eloi, Lema sabachitani means my god, my god why have you forsaken
me?'

Lord when you committed your life to the cross,
You cried:
Where is my mother?
It seems a simple question,
Yet full of doubt,
Mary was standing there beside you,
Could you not see who she was?

Eloi, Eloi, Lema sabachithani?
Was it then that you began to doubt?
After all the years beside him,
Working for him,
You begin to question,
It seems whoever we are,
At are lowest, is when we doubt.

I am thirsty,
This showed that you were only human.
You may be the son of god,
But as promised you were flesh and blood,
The same weaknesses were upon you too.

You cried:
It is finished
Why did you say this?
We have come so far since you died,
We realised our love for you is strong,
And 2000 years on the church and
Faith still stands strong today.

Lord you died to save us,
Through your death and resurrection
We have become as one to you.
I love you with my heart and soul.
