Reletives: Mokuba Kaiba (Younger Brother), Gozaburo Kaiba (Step-father, dead) Seto was orphaned at an early age, and lived with his younger brother, Mokuba, in the Domino City Orphanage. He was offered several chances to leave, but refused to be adopted unless his younger brother would be taken as well.

One day, Gozaburo Kaiba, CEO of KaibaCorp, came to the orphanage. Seto challenged Gozaburo to a game of chess. If he won, Gozaburo would adopt both Seto and Mokuba. Naturally, young Seto won, and Gozaburo adopted to two boys.

On that day, Gozaburo began "training" young Seto to be his heir. He warped the young genious into a cold, cruel, nearly heartless bastard. And then, one day, Gozaburo threatened to do to Mokuba what he had done to Seto.... so Seto did the only thing he could.

He pushed Gozaburo out a window.

Seto moved on with his life, taking control of KaibaCorp and becoming a top ranked duelist. Along the way, he gained three of the four Blue Eyes White Dragon cards.

One day, while at school, he overheard some of his classmates talking about a rare card belonging to the owner of the Turtle Game Shop.

It was this card that would lead him into confrontation with one Yugi Moto....
