Shire, o shire, how I have longed to see your face,

Remnants of evil shall never keep me from this place,

Hence I have traveled far and wide,

To see your hills lying side by side,

Do not deny me of this pleasure I desire,

For it would be as though you threw me into Mount Doom's tongues of fire,

Yet let me stay here sometime more,

To admire the place that I adore
