"Oh. Sorry, Daniel."
"Sam! Oh, hey... didn't realise it was you. You can stay."
"Are you sure? I mean, if Jack finds me, he'll find you too."
"Yeah... gotta say, I'm not sure I care. Isn't Hide n Seek a kids' game?"
"Last time I checked."
"Thought so."
Silence.
"So...."
"So...."
"Nice wormhole trouble we're having, isn't it?"
"(laughs) Lovely. Never thought I'd get so bored with all this free time, though."
"Oh, come on, Sam, you must have a whole bunch of stuff to do. Paperwork, shopping... boyfriend?"
"Heh. Yeah, that's a good one. 'Hi, honey, did you have a good day?' 'I'm not allowed to tell you, remember?' 'Oh yeah.' What about you?"
"What about me?"
"Don't you have a girlfriend?"
"Me? Nah. Don't seem to attract many girls these days."
"Oh, what? But you've got this whole cute professor thing going on..."
"I have?"
"Um... no."
"Sam, you just said I was cute. And a professor, apparently."
"No I didn't."
"Yes you did."
"No, I *didn't*."
"Sure. Fine. Whatever."
"Fine."
Silence.
"Would you like to go out sometime?"
Silence.
"Sam? Did you hear me?"
"Guhhhh...."
"Are you in shock?"
"Uh-huh."
"Okay. I'll wait."
Five minutes later....
"Did you just ask me out?"
"Well, not 'just', per se, because I asked you five minutes ago, but other that that, yeah."
"Okay."
"Was that 'okay' as in 'I accept what you've just said, but I'm not going to respond' or 'okay' as in 'yeah, I'll go out with you'?"
"The last one."
"Okay."

Jack flopped into a chair in the briefing room two hours later, and was astonished by the absence of both Daniel and Sam. Teal'c, however, was there. "Where're the geeks?"
Teal'c regarded him calmly, "If it is Daniel Jackson and Major Carter you seek, I believe I observed them entering Dr. Jackson's private quarters half an hour ago."
Alarm bells started going off in Jack's head. "Half an hour ago?"
"Indeed."
"Did they come out?"
"I do not believe they will wish to for a considerable amount of time, Colonel O'Neill."
The alarm bells got louder, and Jack began to wonder just how much Teal'c knew. "Why's that, buddy?"
"As I passed the room, I heard sounds that are generally associated with sexual--"
"NO! STOP! Don't tell me anymore, I don't wanna know."
"You did not let me finish. Perhaps the noises are different on your planet. They were like this--"
Jack shot out of the room at a speed that was not dissimilar to the kind induced by the armbands. As Teal'c's imitation of the noises began wafting down the corridor after him, he simply clamped his hands to his ears, ran faster, and prayed for his sanity.
