Percy POV
Today couldn't get any better. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and I've had no monster attacks all day!
Annabeth and I were sitting in Central Park, having a picnic. She was casually laying with her head on my lap, reading some architecture book, while I played with her curly princess hair. You're probably thinking 'Perce, what normal guy plays with his girlfriend's hair?' Well, I'm definitely not normal, so live with it! Besides, its not like she minds.
I spot an old couple sitting on a bench feeding the pigeons. They look so happy and content just being with each other. When they get up to leave, the old lady intertwines her hand with her husband's. I wonder if Annabeth and I will be like that one day...
I look down at the amazing girl I have with me. She frowns slightly as she concentrates on the Greek words and a small, but happy smile grace her lips. Holy Hephaestus, I got the prettiest girl in the entire universe.
"What are you staring at, Seaweed Brain?" her voice pulls me out of my thoughts.
"Oh, y'know. Just the prettiest girl in Central Park." I answer and smirk.
A small blush appears on her cheeks and I grin. She rolls her eyes and checks the time.
"We should start heading back. Sally said we're having blue pizza tonight!" she says.
As we pack up, Annabeth accidentally trips over a tree root. I dash forward to catch her and we end up nose to nose.
"Did the graceful Annabeth Chase just trip?" I ask in mock astonishment.
"Oh, shut up Seaweed Brain!" she grumbles and blushes.
I grin and close the gap between us, kissing her softly. When we separate, both of us are resembling tomatoes and we finish packing up.
As we leave, I remember the old couple I saw earlier, and intertwine my fingers wit Annabeth's. Today was really one of the best days.
