Disclaimer: Nope. I still don't own the TMNTs - and it's really depressing to have to remind myself of it this often.
A/N:Kay, since you didn't flame my other "poem" like I thought you would, I thought I'd post the other ones I wrote last night. Like the other one, this could fit any turtle, but for some reason the name 'Leo' keeps flashing in my mind. Probably cuz of the word 'honorable.' They kinda come hand in hand, don't they? Anyway, enjoy and don't forget to review. Thankies!
THE HONORABLE THING TO DO

Genre: Angst/Poetry
Language: English
Rating: T
Summary: Why did they always put their life at stake for the city? The never got anything in return. They never owed it to them to protect them. Another attempt to write poetry on my part.
I've
risked my life so many times
Fighting Your battles
I've saved
You over and over again
And have yet to receive a single glance of
gratitude
I've
hidden my hideousness from Your fragile reality
Envied You from
shadows that never disappeared with the redemption of daylight
And now,
after staring into the barrel of Your attacker
I've watched You
flee to where a better life awaits
And I'm left facing the end
on the cold of this blood painted pavement
Fading, waiting, dying
a little more with each rugged breath
Why?
You never
gave me anything
You didn't even bother to thank me for the life
I provided You
Why give a life to someone who doesn't care about
mine?
Why give it all up for the sake of a stranger?
My
family
My future
My brief time in this world
Because,
as my father would have said
Had he still been with us
It was
the honorable thing to do
