Vlad's Angel

Vlad held Danny's body tightly to his chest. For once in his life, he didn't care if his suit got dirty. He didn't care that he was crying, and anyone could see him. He just sat in the middle of the field, clutching Danny's body for dear life.

He knew it was useless. He knew his love was gone. And there was nothing he could do about it. The cold night wind gently blew, pushing his long silver hair in his face. The long grass covered half of his body, since he was on his knees. Anyone who drove by wouldn't even see the body of the bloody boy he was holding.

The blood was seeping through his clothes, but again, he didn't care. It was the first time Vlad had ever felt completely... Powerless. His body was numb, he couldn't stop crying and sobbing, and his mind was crowded by his sadness. There was nothing he could do to bring back the dead boy that he loved.

He would have thought he'd be mad. Actually, furious. He shouldn't be crying like some weakling. He should go out there and kill the monster that did this.

But he couldn't. He was so sad, so depressed that it felt he was going to explode. He's never felt emotions that strong before.

Vlad pulled Daniel closer, smelling his hair one last time. It only made more tears fall.

He hadn't been with Daniel for long - only a few weeks really. He hadn't even realized how far he fell for the boy. Only now, when he held Daniels cold dead body, did he realize how in love he was with the boy.

He sat there, crying, for hours. Dusk turned to night, and the body went from cold to freezing - yet he couldn't let go. The full moon above his head illuminated the night around him. It reflected against the drops of dew on the tall grass, shining blue, pink, and purple.

The cold wind suddenly stopped, and the only sound was Vlad's quiet sobbing. His head was still in the boys hair. A small hand gently caressed his cheek. It felt weird - almost inhuman. It wasn't cold, or warm. Like it didn't have a temperature.

Slowly, Vlad lifted his head and opened his eyes. In front of him, was a glowing boy. He had long, baggy white hair that fell in his eyes, which were neon green. He had black feathery wings emerging from his shirtless back. He had dark black jeans, and no shoes.

And it was Daniel. He could see it in his eyes. "D-Da..." Vlad's voice cracked from crying for so long.

Daniel's warm, gentle smile reassured him. He gently whipped the tears and hair from Vlad's face, and Vlad leaned into the touch. "I'm here, Vlad. It's okay."

Vlad sobbed again, and finally found his voice. "You... Died. It killed you..."

Daniel smiled. "I know."

Vlad looked back up at the boy. "Don't- Don't leave me."

Daniel floated a bit closer, and placed his hands on Vlad's. "You've got to let go first."

Vlad looked down at the motionless body still in his lap. The gentle glow from Daniel's ghost made his body look even more lifeless. It was hard, but Vlad slowly set the body down on the cold ground. It felt like he was finally saying goodbye, but he didn't want to.

Vlad stood up, and wrapped his arms around himself, finally noticing how cold he was. Daniel floated behind Vlad and wrapped his arms around his neck. He rested his head on his shoulder, and wrapped his black wings around his body.

Vlad leaned back into the boy. One last tear fell from his eye. "You won't... Leave me?"

Daniel sighed contently, tickling Vlad's shoulder a bit. "Of course not. I'm never going to leave you again. I love you."

Vlad turned around and hugged the boy tightly. Daniel was sure if he still had to breath he would be chocking. Fresh tears fell down Vlad's face and landed in the soft feathers of Daniel's new wings. "Daniel, I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you!"

He screamed it louder each time. Daniel laughed and hugged Vlad back.

"We'll be together for ever and ever," Daniel stated.

"Me and my angel," Vlad finished.
