This was odd.
Jack was nervous. Nervous! It was ridiculous. Captain Jack Harkness was never nervous. He was too busy saving the world, and looking as dashing as possible.
And yet here he was, at Ianto's front door, finger held to the buzzer… but for some reason he was too nervous to put the tiniest bit of pressure on that doorbell, least it announce his presence.
"Come on Jack!" he said aloud, pulling at his shirt with his free hand. "This is nothing. Dinner and a movie with Ianto. He said yes when you asked, so its not like he doesn't like you… he'd rather go out with you than photocopy his butt… at least I think that's why he stopped me…"
The door opened, and Jacks hand fell limply at his side.
"You're early." Ianto gave a shy smile.
"Well yeah… couldn't wait another second to see you, Ianto." The Captain gulped. How come he was immortal, but he was still nervous? Maybe it was because he didn't usually go on dates. For some reason he always seemed to…skip the dinner and movie part.
"You know Jack, I've got some DVDs… we could stay in, order pizza, or Chinese… and I still have this stopwatch." He pulled it sheepishly out of his pocket, the hint of a smirk on his face.
Jack grinned. "I love the things you do with a stopwatch." He closed the door behind him.
"I know you do, Sir."
