The Champion

An advanced civilization of force users known as the White Lotus are endangered by the corrupted Champions of the Divines. The only one who can save them is the last uncorrupted Champion, the Champion of the Lifeshaper.

This is my first story so here goes

Chapter 1: The Mission

On a stealth cruiser in mid jump around the Andromeda System we awaited our mission in the drop pod launch bay. Next to me was the rest of my unit Alpha squad, Private Greene, Cog, Tiara, Jester, R2D1, and Thorn. In the next set of the drop pods were the second insertion team Beta Squad, Genie, Sergent Amor, Victor, Loki, Nikolai, Madison, and Bates. Theta squad, Overlord, Thor, Anders, Eagle, and Watchdog, had already dropped in a cloaked drop capsule with their speeders. They were setting up for recon.

Fleet Admiral Hayven appeared on the Holopad to fill us in on the the mission.

The Admiral spoke "Your teams' mission is to infiltrate the rebel research facility, access the main computer and insert a file transmitter into the system, that way you could download all their files, then you need to hack the facility's sensors and comms so the station AI can't warn the rest of the facility of the intrusion. Then you have to go to the AI's memory core and remove it from the system and insert a clone AI that will act as the original. That way we will have full control of the facility. To do this you will have to remove the AI memory core then give it to Cog, he will use the code LIKEFATHERLIKESON into the core and that will make a perfect clone then insert the fake AI into the system. After that, bug out and head to the nearest spaceport 32.1 klicks south-east of the research facility. You will meet Sgt. Amor, Genie, and Jester as well as Theta. They will be at a freighter in Landing Bay 5. You will act as normal merchants. There will be overalls, boots and hats to disguise yourself as workers, as well as crew outfits for Theta and the others to disguise themselves as the flight crew. Jester and Genie will pilot the freighter to the rendevous at the Ghave Military HQ for a Council Debrief. Now get into your pods, our window is slim. We are counting on you to accomplish your mission. Good Luck and May the Force be with You. Over and out!" His hologram disappeared.

"YOU HEARD THE MAN! EVERYONE INTO YOUR PODS!" I shouted.

As everyone filed into their own drop pods I got this funny feeling, like I was being watched.

Once everyone was in their drop pods', I initiated the launch sequence and then hopped into my pod and strapped in. The pods hatch sealed shut, and we were launched towards the planet.
