A dark grey tabby she-cat shakily hunched over a light grey tabby she-cat, whom lay, dying, in a pool of blood. Cats came into the clearing and surrounded the two, brought by the sobs of the dark grey tabby, and the stench of the lighter tabby's blood.
Tears mixed with blood as the dying she-cat whispered, "Remember our song, DuskRoar?" She seemed to just barely be able to speak. The darker tabby, DuskRoar, sobbed out, "Yes, DawnWhisper, I remember." Slowly, the lighter grey she-cat, DawnWhisper, murmured, "Sing it to me one last time, Sister. . Before I die." Heart stuck in her throat, DuskRoar complied with her sister's last request before her flight to StarClan. "Oh, the sun will f-fall," She sang the first verse softly. A smile appeared on DawnWhisper's muzzle. DuskRoar continued woefully, "Out will come the dusk, preparing the sky for the moon. When the moon comes, the dusk pleads to stay, but gives in and goes away~. Soon after, the moon retires, the dawn will come and prepare the sky for the sun. Oh, When the sun comes, the dawn will ask to stay, but gives in and goes away. The dawn and the dusk meet, and greet, and say, 'oh, let's fight back. Even if this is not our task.' The two are forever entwined. ." DuskRoar choked out the last word, and her sister weakly reached up, licked her muzzle.
Then, DawnWhisper fell limp with a thudding noise from her head hitting the dirt. Their clan surrounded them with whispers. Suddenly, DuskRoar roared out, her head whipping back and forth, "WHO DID IT! WHO KILLED MY SISTER!" Her eyes were littered with suspicion, though deep inside, one might see heart-break was being hidden.
Cats yowled out in shock at the dark tabby's accusation. This caused the Thunderclan leader, RobinStar, to come forward. "DuskRoar, I understand you are deeply saddened by DawnWhisper's death, but please, that is no reason to blame your clan of murder!" He softly mewed.
DuskRoar shook her head back and forth, her eyes shut tight, as if she were trying to stop a thought. Then, she curled up beside DawnWhisper, her fur becoming matted with blood. Cats bowed their heads at the she-cat's death. She had so many opportunities ahead of her, it was not her time to die.
