"Oh 'camon! you cant stay home at New Year's Eve!" Kiba sighed and looked at Naruto who was lying on the bed. the two lived together, since they were best friends and Naruto didn't want to live alone.
"It's fine. i have nothing to do with all of you guys.. you and Shikamaru will probably disappear right after the midnight kiss, you two really cant hold yourselves. Chouji and Ino won't pay attention to anyone accept each other. Shino and Hinata might be a company, but she still loves me and Shino hates me for this. Lee will get drunk soon and Sakura will take him home. Neji and Ten-ten... well its them. and I, just like always, will sit alone next to the bar, wont kiss anyone at midnight and get back home depressed." Naruto didn't even bothered to open his eyes. "I heard Sasuke will come this year..." Kiba whispered.
"you said that last year." Naruto finally opened his eyes and kiba wished he will close them again. he had tears in his eyes, and that broken look... it was the same since Sasuke left him. Naruto always looked like that. "last year I lied. this time its true." a spark of hope appeared in Naruto's eyes."really?" he asked. "really." kiba smiled. Naruto jumped off the bed and ran to the closet. he quickly got dressed and he and kiba left to the same bar where they were celebrating every year.
In the bar, it was just like Naruto said. every couple in their own business. when it was almost midnight, Naruto left. Sasuke wasn't there. Kiba lied again. Naruto started walking slowly back home, trying to hold his tears.
"Sorry I'm late..." Naruto froze to the voice. "he didn't lie... you're here..." Naruto whispered, looking at Sasuke that was already standing close to him. "happy new year, Naruto." said Sasuke, and right when the clock hit 12, he moved closer and kissed Naruto gently on the lips. it was a long, slow and loving kiss. when Sasuke felt something salty he pulled back, only to see Naruto crying.
"I hate you." Naruto whispered. "what?" Sasuke was confused. "I hate you. everything is because of you." Naruto started walking forward, making Sasuke walk back. "its all you. since you left, I'm like a zombie. you're here now, but what about the last few years? I cant even imagine what would happen if Kiba wasn't there for me." Sasuke's back finally hit a wall and Naruto stopped walking.
"and its all YOU. your addictive touch. your goddamn smile and those eyes... those eyes that made me fall for you from the first place... i hate you Sasuke Uchiha. i hate you." Naruto's voice became a whisper and he fell to the floor, tears streaming down his face. Sasuke set next to him. "i hate you so mush... why do i love you?" Naruto whispered as Sasuke hugged him.
"i love you, Naruto. and this time i wont leave." said Sasuke, holding Naruto close. "promise. promise me you wont leave. promise me that tomorrow morning i wont wake up to another day without you. i wont wake up alone. promise you will stay..." Naruto slowly stopped crying.
"I promise."
