Remote Wars
It was a lazy afternoon in Jump City. The city was experiencing a heat wave, so most criminals were smart enough to stay at home where it was air conditioned, rather than commit felonies under the hot sun. The foolish ones were handled by the police, so the Teen Titans were left with plenty of time to relax. Cyborg was busy updating his baby in the cool of the garage, Beastboy and Starfire were splashing in the pool, and Raven was watching TV. Robin sauntered in the room with a cocky grin.
"Hey, Rae, what'cha watching?" he asked nonchalantly.
"Some old Hitchcock film," she replied in her normal monotone, "I'm not sure which one."
He plopped down on the couch next to her. "Sounds boring. I heard there's a marathon about famous battles on the History Channel. We should watch that."
"No."
"Why not?" he wheedled, looking cute.
"Because I don't want to. And I," she said with a smirk, "Have the remote."
"Ouch, Rae. That's cold. Real cold."
"That's me, the Ice Queen."
Sneakily, he reached behind her for the remote.
"Don't even think about it, Bird Boy."
"About what?" he asked, feigning innocence, "I was just thinking about making some popcorn. Does that sound good to you?"
Raven groaned. "It's too hot for popcorn."
"How about some lemonade then?"
"That would be fine."
Robin went to the kitchen, scheming his next move. He filled a pitcher with lemonade and poured some into two glasses. All of this he put on a tray, which he carried back into the other room.
"Here's your drink," he said, accidentally-on-purpose spilling it down Raven's shirt.
"Ooops," he grinned, swiping the remote while she was distracted with getting the ice cubes out of her shirt. She scowled.
"You're going down, Robin," she snarled, "I'll make sure of it."
"Whatever you say, Raven," he replied, absorbed by the epic battles onscreen. Quickly, she used her magic to reclaim the remote.
"Hey, no fair," he whined.
"And dumping a drink on me is?" she countered, "You sure have a funny definition of fair."
The empath watched as the man onscreen rang the doorbell to a creepy old mansion. Suddenly, she felt a slight tugging in the hand that held the remote. It was now gone, held by a grinning Robin, who had taken it with the use of a grappling hook. Thinking quickly, she magically pulled his shirt over his head, giving her the time she needed to steal it back.
"Gee Rae, I didn't know you were so eager to get me undressed," he winked smarmily after he pulled it down.
"As if, Boy Blunder," she scoffed, not noticing him stealthily reach into his pocket and pull something out. Pressing a button, he dropped the smoke bomb on the floor, reclaiming the remote.
"That's it," she said, "You are going down."
When the smoke cleared, Raven lunged at him, knocking him off the couch and onto his back. He held the remote as far away from her as possible.
"Come and get it," he taunted.
She climbed on his stomach and reached for the remote, which was above his head. When she almost had it, he dropped it on the ground and grabbed her hands, flipping their positions.
"Got'cha," he grinned evilly. Leaning down, he captured her lips with his. Raven melted into the kiss. However, the instant they parted for breath, she flipped him again.
"I win," she said, dangling the remote between her fingers. Robin watched her settle back into her position on the couch, and plotted for Round Two.
The End
