This Magic Moment

I was tossing and turning in my bed and it wasn't from the rain outside. I opened my eyes to look at the time. Ten thirty. I lay my head back on the pillow and closed my eyes. Five minutes later I woke up and sat up on the bed. I looked at my engagement ring. Did I really want to marry Joe? I changed into my clothes and went to look for the ring box. I looked in the drawers and found it. I took off the ring and put it in the box and found a plastic bag to put the box in. I put my shoes on, walked out the door and got in my car. I used the hood on my coat so I didn't get soaked. I drove to Joe's house, he wasn't home. He was on a stakeout so I left the bag on the doorknob. I left Joe's house and drove to the destination to my future. Ten minutes later I was parked at the curb, turned off the car and looked at the building across the street. Enough thinking, I got out of my car and ran across the street. The gate opened and ran to the elevator. I waved to the camera and the ride seemed to take forever. It finally stopped, the doors opened and I knocked on Ranger's door. I heard music. A few seconds later, he opened the door. He was still dressed.

"Hey Babe."

"Hi, your wondering why I am here at 11 at night."

"Is there someone that is bothering you?"

"No."

"What's the matter? You must be shivering in those clothes. Change your clothes, I'm sure you still have clothes here."

"Wait." I said grabbing his hand.

"That's not what I want right now."

"What is it that you want? You don't get out of those clothes, your going to get sick."

The song changed on the stereo to Roy Orbison This Magic Moment.

"What I want is you." I said putting my hands on his face and kissing him. I came up for breath.

"I love you." I said.

I continued to kiss him. He deepened the kiss as he put his arms around me. He broke the kiss and looked at me.

"I love you you." Ranger said smiling. "Let's get you out of these clothes."

He led to the bedroom and we made passionate love.

It was after midnight when I woke up. The rain had stopped. Ranger had one arm around my waist. I turned around to look at the handsome man I was in bed with.

"You see something you like Babe?"

"Yeah, you."

He opened his eyes and leaned on his elbows.

"So what's the story?"

"I couldn't sleep, so I gave Joe the ring back."

"Why did you do that?"

"Joe isn't my forever, you are. I know it took me while to think about it and decided who I wanted to be with for the rest of my life."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. 100% sure."

"Good because you complete me."

We made love again and we got married a year later.
