Chapter 1 The Demon Cat
Kagome sighed as Inuyasha glared at her with one eye. "What's your problem any way Inuyasha? I was only a day late getting back here," said Kagome angrily. "I'll tell you what my problem is, we could have found more jewel shards if you hadn't been so late getting here from that strange era!" Inuyasha replied angrily. "Inuyasha" Miroku sighed "can't you get along for one second" I'm getting a headache from all this fighting" "I completely agree," said Sango with a slight nod. Recently they had noticed Sango agreeing with anything Miroku said and whenever they would camp for the night Sango and Miroku would be sure to sit next to each other. "What is it Inuyasha" asked Kagome. "I don't know but whatever it is it's big," replied Inuyasha. "Let's keep going," said Sango "it's getting dark and I want to make it to the next village if we can." "That's fine with me," said Kagome "I don't want to be out here if that thing Inuyasha sensed is a demon". "What's the matter, you scared of the dark", Inuyasha called jeeringly. "No I just don't want it sneaking upon us in the dark if it is a demon"said Kagome.
Suddenly a large cat came lunging out from the darkness. The cat reared menacingly, landing with a huge thud and making the trees behind it shake. It's red eyes narrowed as it let out a bloodcurdling shriek. When the noise died they could here more and more shrieks echoing from all over the mountain. The cat's body was a sleek dark black. Its paws were stained an awful blood red that looked and smelled terribly familiar to Inuyasha. It was human blood. "It looks like there's more of them" Said Sango worriedly "They don't like much to me, just a bag of fleas of and a bunch of fur," said Inuyasha in a bored tone. "I'll take care of this and and then we can hurry up and go". Inuyasha lunged the cat ducked and swung around behind him. Inuyasha lunged, again missing. The strange thing was that the cat wasn't looking worried at all that a demon was coming at him again and again, in fact the huge cat looked almost smug. After three more attempts by Inuyasha the cat seemed to get bored and took the offensive. It took its paw and raised it. With one wild blow it knocked Inuyasha clear off his feet. Inuyasha rose slowly, which made Kagome suspect broken ribs. In the distance she could sense a sacred jewel shard coming closer and closer, and suddenly what the cats shriek had meant. The black cat had been calling for help. The other cats had jewel shards and were approaching fast. Suddenly she could here more cat shrieking, this time they seemed closer and more terrifying. Kagome had to think fast. And then suddenly hundreds of the jet-black cats toped the hill flying straight at Inuyasha. INUYASHA...
