I have heard you call me
All these names ten times before
You've made me cry and yell at you
'Till my whole body's sore
You're rude and crude and pompous
You swear and bark and scream
An' of all the things you tell me
Lots of them you mean
But when you say you hate me
I know this is a lie
Don't even try denying
I can see it in your eyes
Still- you tell me I'm a moron
That I'm always in your way
You scream my presence sickens you
But your eyes betray
You always frown, you always scowl
Hiss and bark and snap
But the truths inside your eyes
Shine over all that
You can tell me you despise me
All I'll do is shed my tears
But I know you can't desert me
For my absence is your fear
I don't know what you're thinking
But I do know when you lie
So don't even bother trying
I can see it in your eyes
Still- you hiss that I annoy you
An' that I should go away
But I know that you don't mean that
For your eyes betray
You tell me you still love her
That no matter what I say
She's the one you'll care for
But your eyes betray
Hey- you can tell me what you want
Whatever's on your mind
But everything you hide from me
I'll find inside your eyes
An' I must say I am getting sick
Of the lies you always spew!
Don't you understand it yet?!
Get that I love you?!

As this I yell you blink at me
Those eyes seem so confused. . .
Did you really think that sight
Is all that eyes are used?
I don't know what you're thinking
But I know you do not lie
As you take a small step closer
And look straight into *my* eyes
Your body seems so calm, so poised
Your eyes say you're afraid
Scared that if you near me
I'll push you far away
And when you *finally* see I won't
You break into a smile
Wrapping your strong arms 'round me
You hold me for a while
And then you lean in closer
Just a brush; a taste of you
And all the lies you've ever told
Are vanquished by love's truths

Like it? Hate it? It's probably not one of my bests- I spent about half the
time I usually do on a poem on this one. But ah well. . . Please tell me
