He knew he'd taken her for granted.
When she'd left him, this time in all seriousness, he wasn't ready. From the moment she turned away to the second her warmth had faded. He broke down.
Orhime tried cooking for him, Chad said small words of encouragement, and Uryu scoffed in a manner that would usually have pissed him off. None of this attempts toke function on him of course.
He was drowning in guilt.
He was always taking her for granted. She'd given him the power of a soul reaper. She'd risked death for his well-being. She'd stood up for him, and covered over his mistakes. She was the one who taught him to be who he was now. What did he do to pay her back?
Nothing.
He bickered with her, insulted what she drew, called her names, and barely toke her opinions into consideration. Thinking back, he saw his stupidity.
He'd taken Rukia for granted.
And he'd lost her.
End.
