Powerpuff Girls
Hero Mojo
Chapter 3
Ah! Morning in the city of Townsville! A cheerful new day, with cheerful people heading for work. At the Powerpuff Girls' house, Buttercup and Bubbles are cheerfully brushing their cheerful teeth.
A not-so-cheerful Blossom trudged in. She had bloodshot eyes, and looks like she hadn't slept all night (which, in fact, she hasn't). She grumpily picked up her toothbrush. She begins brushing, v e r y s l o w l y.
"Hi, Blossom!" Bubbles said cheerfully.
"Yeah, whatever," Blossom mumbled under her breath.
"Blossom?" Buttercup said. "Are you alright? You look like you haven't slept in-"
Beep! Beep! Beep! The hotline was ringing. Buttercup dashed over and picked it up.
"What is it, Mayor?" she asked abruptly.
Mojo fell back in astonishment. Blossom was supposed to answer the phone. He disguised his voice and said:
"Hello. I would like to speak with Blossom Utonium."
"Uh... ... Blossom! It's for you!" Buttercup walked away while Blossom picked up the receiver.
"Yes?" she said wearily.
"Blossom, this is Mojo! Uh, listen, I have something to ask you. Well, because I saved your life and all, I thought it would be more... convenient... if you were around more often."
"What are you getting at, Mojo?" Blossom sighed.
"How would you like moving in with me," Mojo said hurriedly.
"WHAT! I couldn't do that! The Professor would be so worried, and, my sisters, and, and, and, where would I sleep!?"
"Well," Mojo licked his lips with satisfaction. "I guess you're no grateful I saved your life."
"But-"
"Well, if you don't want to..."
"Fine. But where are you going to get a room for me?"
"Oh, uh, I have one already built on," Mojo stammered.
"Well, okay, I'll come over as soon as possible."
"NO! Come over at eight. No, nine! Good-bye!" Mojo hung up and immediately dialed another number. "Hello? Al's Construction? Yes, I need a room added to my house by nine o' clock tonight. Understand? Okay, I'll pay you extra! Bye!" Mojo collapsed into his chair. "Oh, I need a glass of champagne."
Buttercup and Bubbles were starting to worry about Blossom. She said she was meeting a friend in the park at nine, but was packing everything she owned.
"Buttercup," Bubbles said. "Maybe we should follow her."
"Are you crazy!" Buttercup yelled. "The Professor will kill Blossom when-"
"You mean if," Bubbles corrected.
"I mean when he finds out Blossom is out at 9 o' clock PM! And if we follow her, we're dead too!"
"Sorry," Bubbles said meekly.
That night...
Blossom snuck away as quietly as she could. She flew toward Mojo's place. As she drew closer, she heard hammers pounding and drills driving. "Hmm," she said, "Must be doing construction close to Mojo's place."
Back at Mojo Jojo's lair...
"Hurry up!" Mojo ordered. "She's coming! She's coming! HURRY!"
Blossom quickly knocked on the door. Mojo answered it and said:
"Come back later, I'm busy." He slammed the door, and kept yelling at the construction workers. Finally, the job was done, and they left.
Mojo opened the door, and said, "Come on in, and I'll show you your room." Blossom followed Mojo, befuddled.
The room was makeshift and sloppy, but it was a room. Mojo left her alone. Blossom unpacked her things, and tried to make herself comfortable, but she couldn't. "Ah well," she said. "I guess I'll be staying here till I save Mojo's life. Like that'll happen." Blossom sighed and went back to work.
