Summary: Maxi and David might talk civilized. Scott and Shelby go through rough times when an unexpected visitor arrives. Kat starts a search that may hold the answers of her youth.

Maxi knew that she needed to talk to him anyway and that he needed to know that she was okay even if he didn't want to.
Maxi: David Lancaster.
Voice: He's been checking his messages. I don't mean to step on your toes, but are you okay?
Maxi: Yea I will be.
The young lady transfered her call and wondered what had happened to this girl.
David: Max?
Maxi started crying at the sound of his voice. She knew she should have called someone else. He didn't want her and all she needed was someone to cry with.
Maxi: Yea.
David: What happened? concerned
Maxi: Matt and I broke-up. He's getting back together with his ex....I wanted to marry him, but I guess that's out of the question.
David: Yea. Do you need someone?
Maxi: Yea. I don't think I can make it there.
David: I'll be there soon. Meet me at the airport ok?
Maxi: Don't!
David: Max, you need me and for some reason I need you. I'm coming meet me or I'll find you ethier way.
Maxi: Fine, but I don't want to do this.
David: I'll see you soon and call Peter he might help. Please Max. Maxi: Okay i guess I'll meet you at the airport.

Scott and Shelby walked up the walk way to thier former home and felt a sense of relief. They had always felt safe here and that was something that money couldn't buy Scott thought to himself.
Scott: So, Peter I guess you and I should go get checked up.
Peter grinned and walked behind Scott to the dorms
Sophie: He looks good.
Shelby: Yea. His leg won't be the same, but he can play football now. Which is all that mattered.
Sophie: Keep tellin' yourself that kid.smile
Shelby shrugged her shoulders and watched him through the window.
Sophie knew something was on Shelby's mind. She could see it in here eyes. She didn't want to pry, but maybe being at Horizon would help open her up.
Sophie: Finish the sentence...I want
Shelby: Sophie. irrated
Sophie: Come on. smile
Shelby: I want a family like yours.
Sophie never would have thought of Shelby wanting kids right now. Maybe that's not what she meant.
Sophie: So you want kids?
Shelby gave her a look
Shelby: not now, but later.
Shelby almost told her about Daisy, but she needed to tell Sophie herself.

Daisy and Ezra arrived in Agnes and were calling Peter and Sophie to come pick them up.
Ezra: They're not home babe.
Daisy: So what now walk.dry
Ezra: I'll carry you.
Daisy: Yea and fall over. dry
Ezra smirked and walked beside her. They waved down a small car and rode to what they would always call home.

Juliette and Auggie were riding to Peter's when a car came speeding to thier side. Juliette screamed. She didn't want to go through this agian. She still had nightmares from the first time.......
Auggie swerved quickly and the car in front of them turned into a small dirt road. Auggie took a turn to the side of the road. When he turned off the engine he bent his head on the strearingwheel and took a sigh of relief.
Juliette smiled and then began to tremble. Her head shaking vigoruously to shake away the thoughts of the small boy she had killed only 6 monthes ago. She hadn't dealt with all the pain yet. She hadn't wanted to. Peter had invited her and Auggie over for a few days when they got back, but both of them declined saying they were fine. They had each found ways to keep themselves busy. Juliette with her degree at nursing at the small college and Auggie with his art. Sometimes, they would forget, but the smallest thing would come and tear open the fresh wound.
Auggie: Jules you okay?
Juliette smiled temadly and tried to put on her fake smile, but she couldn't with Auggie. He had always been able to see through it.
Auggie: Hey it's okay. sweetly
Juliette took his hand and rested her head on his bent back.
Auggie sat up and took her in his arms.
Auggie: I won't let that happen agian.
Juliette nodded and tried her best to bat away the tears.
Auggie let her go and turned on the car and resumed thier way to Peter's.
Juliette: I can't feel it anymore. That realization. It's all blank and numb.
Auggie nodded and took her hand in his.

Shelby was walking to the kitchen to see Scott. They were on duty and they were happy to get some privacy. She felt a shot of pain in her stomache. She didn't know what it was and decided that it was just cramps.

Scott ran up to her smiling and taking her hand. He glanced at the diamond ring and it sparkled on her finger reminding him that she was his and he was hers. He smiled at this and thought to himself that he wouldn't want it any other way....
Shelby: Well, cowboy what's got you in such a good mood? smiling
She had pushed away the thought of pain and decided to just concentrate on Scott.
Scott: Ohh nothin'.
Shelby: I'll bet pretty boy.
Scott: What did you call me?
Shelby: Pretty boy...
Scott smiled and for his revenge he picked her up and walked her to the kitchen like a potato sack.

David and Maxi boarded thier flight. Maxi's mind was trying hard to push out the image of Matt and his ex-wife. It hurt, but she had David and that would help her with the pain for now. She wanted to talk to Daisy or Juliette, but preffably Shelby and Scott. They were calling eachother alot lately and she wouldn't know how to deal with it all alone. All those times Matt said he had to go home early, because his chest hurt he was going home to....her.
David saw the deep thinking in Maxi's head. He wanted to distract her from the shock for a little while. He was guessing he wasn't doing a very good job. He always knew when she hurt, her line between her eyes would deepen and her green eyes would glaze over.
David: Max ya know we can talk about it if ya want.
Maxi smiled at his intentions, but shook her head.
David smiling knowing how it felt to be hurt. Maxi had done that to him too once when she turned him away. Sure he had gotten a new girlfriend, but she had tuned him out when he moved and her mother died.
Maxi: I miss them. Ya know?
David: Yea it was home there.
Maxi: I miss that and the people.....but I miss the feeling I had when I knew I was safe and with....you.
David sighed.He hadn't really decided what to do about this. Her being single and him not loving Sharon. He wanted Max, but the pain he didn't know was worth opening.
Maxi nodded knowing that maybe now wasn't the time for this, but David had been the only guy besides Scott and Peter to help her with everything. She didn't want to have to forfut that.
David: No Max, it's just...I miss you too, but you really hurt me. I wanted to help you and you wouldn't let me in.
Maxi: I know, but I didn't want to bring you down with me. When you were already better from your problems. I didn't want to ruin your life. I love you.
David smiled and then he knew his answer and the only answer there had ever been.
David: I love you too, but it's gonna take awhile before I can get over it. I love you and that's why I wanna start over.
He held his hand out.
Maxi smiled and her green eyes lit up with a glow that she was feeling and all the tears she had cried for Matt were gone. Just the thought of him made her feel better. She had loved Matt, but she would never have forgiven herself if she hadn't tried agian with
David. Now they could try agian and hopefully get it right this time. She shook his hand.
David didn't want to let go so he didn't. He felt at home and safe with her no matter what happened in the past she was here now and he was no longer feeling alone.
Maxi rested her head on his shoulder and sighed. She had missed this and no matter what she had gone through nothing was going to change this.
David sighed and kissed the top of her head. Her red hair glittering from the light of the sun. He finally knew he was happy...
A phone rung and a stewardest walked over to David saying it was from Sharon. Maxi froze and lifted her head and took her hand away from his.
David: Sharon?
Sharon: David where are you and where are you going?!?!?!
David sighed and spoke clearly into the small phone.
David: Sharon, I'm going to Horizon.
Sharon: What's Horizon?
David: You clearly don't know me and I'm sorry if I led you on, but I'm going to Horizon and when I get back I want the key to my apartment and all your stuff out.
Maxi smiled, but frowned at the thought of how Sharon must feel. She had done what Matt and Lauren had done to her with David. She pushed the thought out of her mind. Sharon and David hadn't been in love. Well mayde Matt had never loved me....
David hung up the phone and took Maxi's hand and kissed her cheek. He was in love and that was all that mattered.

Ezra, Daisy, Sophie, Peter, Scott, and Shelby were all sitting in the lodge. They were waiting on Jules and Auggie. Maxi and David wpuld be here later and Kat and Hank had taken Annie and Louise for a horse back ride. They had more horses now.
Peter decided to break the ice.
Peter: So, how have the 2 of you been?
Daisy smiled and knew that she should say it. She took Ezra's hand and smiled gently. It was going to be harder than she thought....
Daisy: I'm pregnant.
Sophie: Ummm....
She looked at Peter for guidance on this one.
Peter: Well?
Ezra: We're keeping it if that's what you meant.
Peter: This goes agianst everything I taught you!!
Daisy: Peter we're getting married.
Shelby: Ya know I always saw this in the back of my mind.
Sophie looked at her with motherly eyes and Shelby's voice trailed off.
Sophie: Well, that's a new tone for a reunion.
Peter glared at her.
Scott: Hey I have news.
Shelby looked at him with a question of what the heck are you talking about.
Scott: I'm married...
Ezra: Ohh yea nice save football hero.
Scott: I tried, but you really can't top that Ez.
Shelby screamed with excrustiating pain.
Scott ran to her side and held her hand.
Sophie: Call the nurse!!
Daisy ran to Shelby's side and Ezra ran for the nurse.

Juliette and Auggie got out of the car and ran to the lodge after hearing Ezra scream something about Shelby.
Juliette: Shel what's wrong?
Auggie: it's okay Jules.
Scott: Yea real okay. sarcastic
Daisy: Come on Shelby I'm the one supposed to be having labor pains unless you need to tell us something. You always have to ruin my surprize. dry
Shelby nodded and tried to keep her concience. She was scared, but she would have to be brave for Scott.
Scott: Shel, stay with me, please. Just stay with me.
He layed his head down on her stomache as she slipped into a sleep.

The nurse rushed through the building crowd of students and close friends. She knew what was going on she just didn'y know how she was gonna tell Peter and Scott. She didn't know all the old studnets names, but those Cliffhangers always came back.
Nurse: Barringer pick her up and take her to my office.
Scott nodded and wiped off his tear soaken face and hands. Daisy followed close behind them and walked into the office. Shelby was her bestfriend and she wanted to make sure she was okay.
Nurse: Okay put her on the table, and Scott leave the room.
Scott: What?!?!?!
Nurse: I'm doing an examination...
Daisy: You think she's pregnant
Nurse: Yea I do.
Scott shook his head. She had been taking pregnancy pills. She hadn't wanted kids yet...had she...

Kathrine, Hank, Louise, and Anna all sat down on a bench in the park.
Anna: Kat did you bring the bread for the ducks?
Kat smiled at the little girl and nodded her head. She stood up and took the little girl's hand and pulled her off her spot. They ran off together into the small park towards the lake.
Louise: Hank can we go play football?
Hank: Well, you should talk to Scott on that one buddy.
Louise: Come on Hank.
Hank stood up and took the eager boy. He put the boy on his shoulders and they headed for the open fields.
Kat: Anna don't get to close to the water.
Anna: K Kat.
Kat walked up behind her and wrapped her arms around the girl's waist to keep her from falling in and....
Anna: Kat can you let go.
Kat saw it all in her mind agian the kicking and struggeling she couldn't breath. She was drowning..........
Hank ran as he saw KAt let go of Anna and fall in the lake. He knew she was a good swimmer, but what she was seeing in her mind was more than she could fight against. She was seeing her little sister drown in the lake and she was reinacting it.....
He jumped into the cool water and dived for his fiance. He loved her and he wasn't going to let her die to the same fate as her sister no matter how much she thought that she deserved it.
