Death
"Do you think we'll still be together when we die?" Lucy asked.
"That's a good question. I don't know. If there's a heaven and a hell I don't think I'm good enough for the previous. And you'll definitely be in heaven so..." Gray replied, looking up from her manuscript.
"But we could be reborn. I think we'd definitely find each other then." Lucy pointed out. "Stop reading that!" she shouted, noticing what he was holding.
"Fine," Gray said, putting down the papers, "Anyways, no matter what happens, I'll find you. I'll fight my way out of the bowels of the underworld to get to you. It doesn't matter where we go, I'll make sure we're together, so don't worry." He smiled at her reassuringly.
"I know," Lucy grinned, "I would give up my place in heaven to be by your side, it's just something we should plan for, 'cause we do a bunch of dangerous stuff."
"That's right, we do, but that's never going to kill us," Gray winked.
"You already died once." Lucy said soberly, remembering that terrible day.
"Yeah, not something I recommend trying," Gray said, poking at the desk in front of him.
"And it was for Juvia, you Gray, are in danger of making me jealous," Lucy said, punching him playfully in the shoulder.
"I would have done the same for anyone in the guild." Gray reminded her.
"Even Natsu?" Lucy said.
Gray stared at her for a second, than cracked a smile, "Natsu wouldn't let me." he told her.
"I wouldn't let you either," Lucy pouted, "Life without you wouldn't be living."
"That's sweet Luce, but I would save your life before you could stop me," Gray said with much superiority.
"And I'd save yours back. Good luck trying to sacrifice yourself for me, because it's not going to work." Lucy said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Instead of focusing on being together in death, can we live on with each other?" Gray questioned Lucy.
"We'll live life to the fullest." Lucy promised.
"As long as possible?"
"Of course,"
"I want you to take a vow, or something. Just so I know for sure." Gray said.
Lucy grasped Gray's hand, intertwining their fingers, "I pledge that I will live life for you and with you, using all the time the Earth has given to me."
"And to you I pledge the same," Gray agreed.
"Following the third rule of Fairy Tail?" Lucy continued.
"We'll never treat our own lives as something insignificant." Gray nodded.
They sat there quietly for a minute, thinking.
"Isn't this like a form of marriage?" Lucy asked suddenly.
"I wouldn't mind being married to you," Gray said happily, brushing a hair out of her face.
"Then we need to seal it," Lucy said, pointing to her lips.
He kissed her without hesitation.
End.
Yay, I successfully didn't kill anyone off. I wouldn't be able to do that to myself.
