Never Leave Me Be

He smiled, and it was one of his rare, genuine smiles. His lips cracked at the movement, blood forming in the cracks and spreading out through them. It was nothing compared the blood pouring from the jagged holes in his chest. He was fallen, and he understood his. The scarlet substance was so bright against his marble skin, and his raven's hair. The only other striking thing about him were the mismatched eyes, both ice and warmth. But he looked upon her, the gem that had destroyed him, and smiled. Because for the first time in his forever, he would be at peace. At last, he would be at peace.

A hollow feeling filled her, and she was glad. It hurt more to care, anyways. But when she thought of him, and everything seemed to make her do so, from the clothes she wore (he always thought this was my best color…) to the way other people laughed (he would have found that so annoying…) to lollipops (he loved/hated lollipops!). When she looked at herself, all she could see was him, from the beautiful blue eye she adorned to her mocha colored skin, thinking how he used to look so pale compared to her. And she hated it... she hated that it reminded her of him. She could never let him go, though, because she loved him and because he would always be a part of her. And she sobbed every night. Just for him.
