~oOoOoOo~

"For Merlin's sake, Lucius! This is no place to raise a child. I can't believe we were so stupid! And you, I can't believe that you would get us into this mess. Following behind a madman that doesn't really care for our values!" Narcissa argues, as she's pacing back and forth in front of her husband. "You need to decide now; stay here and follow him while losing me and our child in the process, or, start detaching yourself from the situation and be in your childs life!"

Lucius looks dejectedly towards her. He moves to place his head in his hands, but rubs his temples instead, feeling the startings of a headache.

"It's not that easy, Cissa. If I turn my back on him, he would have no problem killing us all. You have no idea how much I want out … I've told you before, I only joined him because of my Father, do you really think I'm that heartless?"

"You have one week. If you choose us, you know where to find me," replies Narcissa.

Lucius hears the faint pop as she apparates from the Manor, before he falls backwards onto their bed.

"Damn this!" he mutters to no one.

Of course he wants to leave the Dark Lord behind, but what way could he? He couldn't fake their deaths, in case the mark was linked, but he couldn't stay and lose his world. Lucius could handle having mudbloods disgrace the alleys and streets of the Wizarding world, but to lose Narcissa? It was not possible.

The only things Lucius thinks about for the rest of the day is how to safely get himself, and his family away. Before he lets slumber take him, however, he finds the perfect plan.

~oOo~ One Year, Eight Months Later ~oOo~

Lucius hears of his downfall before he takes his morning tea that morning. He smiles over at his wife, who is currently feeding their son, Draco. Everything worked out in his favor, his plan had succeeded. Trelawney had relayed Dumbledore the prophecy, as Severus had overhead and rushed to the Dark Lord with the news.

It took him months to have Narcissa understand and agree, but in the end she realized it was the safest way with nothing point back to them.

It was the perfect plan, he only feels bad for having to break Severus' heart in the process. But, she was naught but a filthy mudblood.
