Quinn was, of course, heartbroken when Sam broke up with her. She didn't want to get back with Finn because he had been acting like an asshole lately, and so she decided to act on some feelings she had been hiding for a while.
When Quinn was pregnant, after she was kicked off the Cheerios and the whole Glee Club sang 'Keep Holding On' to her, Quinn realized something. She loved Rachel Berry.
But, she thought it was just the pregnancy hormones making her do crazy things, so she didn't act on it. But, after she had Beth and came back to school fresh from summer break, she still had that chemistry with Rachel. And she was pretty sure it wasn't pregnancy hormones acting up now.
So she got together with Rachel.
The girls smiled at each other as, one day, one Saturday afternoon, they headed to a nice meadow for a date. It was big but isolated, and had a stream.
They packed a basket of food: turkey and cheese sandwiches (for Quinn,) salad, (for both of them,) chocolate brownies, and cola.
Quinn set up the food and they began to eat. After they head eaten and had packed the dirty dishes back up to be taken home, they stripped off their clothes so that they were only in their bathing suits. It was Febuary, but the meadow was warm later Febuary through early November, so they didn't worry about being too cold.
They swam, giggling in the water as their legs and toes brushed each other, and shared a few passionate kisses.
Rachel smiled as she propped up on her arm. Quinn sighed.
"What's wrong?" the brunette asked.
"Well, I'm the HBIC again, but I'm nowhere near as popular as I used to be. Everybody still thinks of me as the pregnant girl who cheated on her boyfriend!"
"It'll be alright," Rachel told Quinn. "Wouldn't it be so fun to run away?" Rachel asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, we could mysteriously leave town but come to live here. We could build a house, swim, talk, take walks and nature hunts…"
"It'd be fun. But where'd we find food?"
Rachel sighed in exasparation. She pulled herself out of the stream and pulled a towel around her short set body.
"I'm going for a walk," she told Quinn.
Fifteen minutes later she came back. "Quinn, come here!" she called.
The blond pulled herself out of the stream and walked over to Rachel. "Pretty rose!" she exclaimed.
Rachel smiled. "It's yours," she told her, sliding the rose into Quinn's matted wet blond hair.
