Disclaimer: I do not own Young Justice.

Admittedly, not one of my best, but I still like it. This seems like something Wally would say. Though I do have to ask, did anyone really know why we celebrate MLK day? Because I certainly didn't, not before I had to research for this challenge...

A Perfectly Useless Day

"I love useless holidays!" Wally said happily, throwing himself on the couch at Mount Justice. Immediately, the remote to the big screen was in his hand and he turned the channel to cartoons.

"Useless holiday?" Megan questioned, bringing a plate of perfectly baked sugar cookies in with her. She sat daintily next to Wally, crossing her legs as she watched with amusement Spongebob ride a seahorse.

Wally paused from stuffing his face with Megan's cookies. "It's Martin Luther King Jr. Day and we don't really do anything for the holiday, like we don't have traditions. For Christmas we have Christmas trees and for Halloween we have pumpkins and trick or treating. For MLK Day, we have nothing. And my school still gives us the day off. Yeah for federal, useless holidays!" He gestured wildly with a cookie. "These are delicious, Megan, you've gotten a lot better at baking."

Megan ducked her head, flushing and beaming with pride. "Thanks, Wally. So, what is Martin Luther King Jr. Day exactly?"

Wally paused. "I actually have no idea."

"You don't know what holidays you actually celebrate?"

"Don't judge me," Wally defended, stuffing his face. "These are fantastic." Megan just looked at him and he lowered his eyes, ashamed. "No, I don't know why I celebrate this useless holiday. I think it's for his birthday..."

"I know about Martin Luther King Jr. He was a very great man. I would have loved to meet him. If you don't know what the holiday is for, why do you celebrate it, then?"

"That's a conundrum isn't it? So, what do you want to do? We can go to the beach, the carnival, the movies, whatever you want."

"Do you want to watch TV?" Megan said brightly like it was the best idea on earth. Wally's smile froze.

"We live on a private beach and you want to watch TV?" He was devastated; it seemed like everyone had seen her in her bikini except for him.

Megan shrugged. "Well, what else is there to do? This is what I normally do when you're at school, though usually Superboy and Kaldur and Artemis and Robin are here. They're all busy today though. So, do you want to watch TV with me?"

He weighted his options: go the beach, alone, or watch TV, probably old TV, with a gorgeous girl who can bake delicious snacks.

"What's the show?"

"I found it just the other day; I think it's called The Big Bang Theory. The humor is quite funny. It's teaching me much about modern day science and dating relations."

Wally grinned. "I'm in."

What better way to spend a useless day off than with a gorgeous girl who could bake delicious snacks.
