Unknown Child of Time's Arms
She could not help but watch with envy as the scouts laughed together. Sometimes she wished she could have been as carefree as they were but she knew that was not a possibility. She had a duty that had to be completed. Pluto turned from the Time Gate, closing the portal. Walking through the massive structure, her gaze lingered on nothing. This place was merely a ghost of the past.
The Plutonian Palace had once been a beautiful site. The planet had been stunning in beauty, providing life to all. Although the population had never been large to begin with, many people had lived on the planet.
Her mind flitted in remembrance of a news broadcast. According to the humans in that time, Pluto was no longer a planet but a moon. A snort almost escaped her lips. Humans were extremely silly. Still, those dearest to her were now at least partially human.
Entering the throne room, her gaze made its way to the emblem above it. It was the symbol for time. Her symbol. Her family's royal emblem. Her eyes narrowed. Perhaps it was the fact that today was Serenity's wedding to Tranquility that brought this on. She had always made it a point to forget and not think of the past, especially her dear family members.
They were of course all gone, their seeds recycled into in the Cauldron but their actions still weighed heavy on her heart. Going to the throne, she slumped on it, for once allowing herself to think of the past. Technically, her parent's were the goddess Salorian and the Goddess Selene. She had been one of the first beings created. Soon after, the rest of the people in the universe had created. They had originally chosen Pluto to rule the Universe but her so called Guardians had taken care of causing the rupture.
It had been the night before that she was to have taken the throne. She had been prepared, albeit angry. At a specific man surprisingly. Pluto felt his name flow easily to her lips as it echoed in the room. "Kronos…" He had been the one to train her in power and combat. She had of course fallen for him. He had made love to her and had then vanished the next day. He had never returned. On the night that her world had crashed, her guardians had attempted a coup. They had drugged her, taken her staff and gone after the Goddess's Temple. It hadn't just been them. The people of Pluto had believed them to be higher than any other being. Salorian and Selene had not been merciful. They had destroyed all the planet in fire. She had been protected though somehow.
Upon awakening, she had gone to get her staff. Salorian had been surprised to see her. Pluto had begged for mercy and forgiveness. Nothing had ever been explained but she knew as penance, she had been given the duty to guard the Time Gate. The staff had bonded to her anyways. Pluto had taken a new name and had accepted the duty graciously, watching has the second born generation on the Moon Kingdom became the rulers. She had accepted it due to the fact that her heart had still throbbed from betrayal.
Raising a hand to rub a point on her neck where her pulse was, she rubbed in irritation. Pushing aside the bothersome feeling, she rose. She was done thinking of the past. It was time to look forward to the future. Opening a portal, she stepped through and arrived on the Moon Kingdom. She had brought it back to life for this occasion only. As morning dawned, the spell would collapse and they would return to Earth.
Arriving in the ballroom, she looked around. The senshi were having a good time it seemed. Serenity was laughing with Tranquility, Rei and Mamoru. The last two had become an item. Molly and Nephrite were laughing over by a window. Malachyte and Ami were having an intense discussion with Jedaite and Akira, the Princess of the Sun. Zoicite and Ashida, another princess from the next galaxy over were dancing. Minako and Ryo were joking around at a table. Ryo was Haruka's brother. Haruka and Michiru were with Hotaru and Kias, an Elysion priest. She watched as Makoto and Saura, a prince from Atlantis, brought out more food.
Placing a finger to her forehead, she dropped her transformation so that she was in a dark purple dress. At that moment, Serenity caught sight of her. Setsuna found herself smiling despite herself. As Serenity tugged Tranquility over, Setsuna lifted a glass of champagne and took a sip.
"Setsuna! I'm so happy you came!"
"Hello Bunny. You look beautiful."
"Thank you. Oh and thank you so much for bringing the moon Kingdom back for this."
Setsuna smiled gently. "It is time though to let the dream come to an end though and return to Earth."
Serenity gave a sad smile. "I know. Will we see you tomorrow?"
Setsuna gave a slight nod.
Turning away, Setsuna headed outside. She could hear Serenity speaking to the others.
"Hey guys! It's time to go back to Earth!"
As she reached the garden, Setsuna looked toward the sun. It was slowly rising over the Earth. Out of the corner of her eye, a shadow flitted by her. Narrowing her eyes, she transformed back into her senshi form.
Following the shadow, it led her deeper into the gardens. Little by little the garden was fading into dust. Finally cornering it, she raised her staff to it. "Hold."
The shadow cackled.
"Who are you?"
"I am Time's companion."
Pluto paused in confusion but didn't let it show.
"What are you doing here?"
"The Goddess has spoken that your quest is to begin. Your duties at the time gate are inadvertently accomplished. Your penance has been paid and you are to come with me."
"I will not abandon the senshi."
The shadow cackled darkly. "You have no choice! Shadow Drain!"
Pluto fell to her knees, returning to her human form. She could no longer find her senshi powers. The shadow leaped forward, grabbing the Time Staff.
"Give that back you evil creature!"
The shadow tsked. "I never said I was good or evil Princess. I only do my Lady's bidding. Now if you want this back, you will follow me. Do not worry, you only lost your magic, not your immortality."
A portal suddenly opened up and he hopped through, giggling. Sestuna looked at the portal and then back towards the fading Moon Kingdom. Squaring her shoulders, she turned back, leaping through the portal.
At first Setsuna thought she had gone blind. Then she opened her eyes. Light pierced, drowning her senses in pain. Groaning, she covered her eyes. After a few minutes, she peaked through and found herself able to see clearly. She was in a forest of some kind. The trees were even too tall for her to even view the upper branches. Glancing around, she groaned as pain shot through head. She had a headache. At that moment, something soft brushed her hand.
Shooting up, she groaned again at the pain that pierced her skull. Feeling a nip, she peeked up. It was a cat, with her symbol on its forehead. She did not need this. She did not need a talking cat. "Let me guess, my advisor?"
The cat blinked, sunlight reflecting off of purple fur. "Princess Trinity, I was always supposed to be your advisor. I at one time was until we were separated."
"Well I don't remember you. Now, if you want to help me, help me get my staff back. What is your name?"
"I am Milagro, Princess Trinity."
Setsuna's face hardened. "I am no longer Trinity. Trinity died when her people betrayed her true mothers."
Milagro sighed. "You will always be Trinity Princess. You cannot run from that past. Come, there is a town this way. We must find where we are at this time."
Setsuna hesitated before giving in. "Alright Mila…"
