Miyako, impatient as ever, finds it impossible to sit still as she waits for her birthday present from Hikari. She already knows what it is, and it took her an awfully long time and a lot of skilful persuasion (mostly of the physical variety) to get her girlfriend to agree to it; the first time she had asked, Hikari had naturally assumed she was joking. Anybody else would have made the same assumption, and Miyako couldn't really blame her. But the joke wasn't quite as good when Hikari had realised that she was serious, at which point she outright refused. She still must have thought it was pretty funny though, because the smile didn't for an instant disappear from her face.
Miyako hears her call from the bedroom and ask one more time if this is really necessary, and she gleefully replies that it is. She had tried to let it go after Hikari had refused the first time; she figured that she could just ask for something else. But then the image wouldn't leave her mind, and she wore an almost apologetic look when she asked a second time. It was then that Hikari realised that Miyako was really serious and, even though she still said no, Miyako knew that it would only be a matter of time before she came around.
So she continued to pester and harass until her poor girlfriend was almost ready to explode, and finally she caved in. Miyako had rejoiced, and promptly gone to gather the necessary gear. A lot of the shop assistants she had queried had given her some very odd looks when she had specified what she wanted.
Hikari clears her throat and Miyako has never turned around so quickly. Blushing an interesting shade of pink and hanging her head in what might be embarrassment, Hikari stands before her girlfriend dressed up as a gazelle. Miyako squeals with delight. Her favourite animal and her favourite person combined; some would say that she's bizarre for wanting to see that. As far as she's concerned, it's made today the best birthday yet.
