Teddy had begun to visit their grave alone the moment his grandmother stopped worrying he'd get kidnapped or hurt if he went by himself He didn't mind going with her as she would tell him a different thing about his parents every trip. But sometimes Teddy needed to go on his own.

Nearing the age of eighteen, the Lupin boy had his hair a natural light brown – his natural hair color, the color he'd gotten from his father. He had his mother's face though. Or so they said, he could never see himself in either of their faces. Maybe if he had known them more he could have, but that fact stood that he didn't know his parents.

And that was unfair.

But he knew of them. He knew what they were like. He knew how brave, kind, caring, and a whole other seven pages of adjectives that could describe them. He knew what they died for. But he didn't know him, and that's what always bothered him.

There was only one headstone for their closely laid graves. Teddy appreciated that fact that while they may not have been able to be there for him, they were at least together in death. The stone was a soft gray. Their names were written in such an elegant manner. It wasn't anything big or grand and when he had asked his grandmother why that was, she just said that they didn't want it as such. They had both liked the simpler things, something their son had acquired.

The chill of wind rustled his graduation robes. He caught sight of the yellow strips of his house and smiled. He turned back to the grave, his smile faltering slightly.

"I'm graduating guys," Teddy said to the single grave. "All grown up. Already got a job lined up. Pretty excited."

He reached out, running a pale hand over the stone. "I wish you guys were here."

He drew back, already pulling his wand from his pocket. With a simple spell – one he had nearly perfected after years of dating his girlfriend – he created a lone rose in his free hand. He placed it on the grave, willing the tears to dry.

"I miss you guys," Teddy spoke to the single grave. "I miss you guys every day."
