Hey guys! I thought of this story while studying for finals...well, that can wait till tomorrow morning :) This is my first (of more to come) Fairy Tail fic! Just a sidenote, I do ship Grerza more than Jerza, but I ship them both. However, this story is Erza x Jellal.
Enjoy, and don't forget to review! :D

She will always love him. It was a statement that had always been with her since she met him. It had certainly been true before. But was it true now? Her doubts followed her as she walked home in the rain.
The rain had become her good friend lately. It was not only a reflection of her emotions, but also a good cover for when she cried. Tears were shed when she thought of her feelings for him. She'd be scared if her tears didn't fall. But why were they there in the first place?
Being with him was being constantly surrounded by rain; a never ending shower that was submerging her deeper and deeper with every passing day. Her doubts increased with every second. No matter how much she wanted him, she wanted to get out of this inner turmoil even more.

When she closed her eyes, she could see him smile. He'd reach out for her hand, a smile on his face. She was shocked by the affectionate action, and it was her shock that woke her from this dream. Although his heart was hers, it is impossible for one to own a hollow heart.

Every night, she lay awake, thinking about their relationship. In their bed, he was right there, next to her, always facing the other way. She reached her hand out behind her, hoping to touch his warm body, but was barely out of reach. She turned her head to him, but his blue hair and bare back were all that her eyes were met with. She knew it was more than distance between them.
It could be, that maybe he loved her, like she had always loved him. But how could he love her like that, when he can't even look her straight in the eye when she told him so?
XXX
She was so in love, but how could this "love" make her feel so alone? He was supposed to be the one by her side all the time, the one to wipe her tears, and say he'd never leave her.
Where had their desire for each other gone?

She stood at the lake's edge, hoping to clear her thoughts. The water was cold and still. Her reflection was there, sadly staring back at her. Movement behind her caught her attention. She saw him, right there, behind her. He put his arms around her and held her, like he was supposed to. Right when she returned his embrace, he disappeared. The pang of sadness that was left with her let her know that she had been alone this whole time.
She now realized that he could only return her love in her dreams.

He gave excuses for all his empty promises and his missing romantic gestures. These excuses were convincing, and she wanted to believe them all. But she could see right through him, and she knew that they were just more words pushing him farther away. It hurt even more to know that she couldn't do a thing about it.
But deep down in her heart, she just knew that she will always have love for him. No matter what happened, or where they ended up.
How far did this love go?

She closed her eyes now, but this time he wasn't around her. She could still see his smile, but it was now a vision that her hope was long lost for. The rain was pouring outside. She looked around at the house that they had shared; the house that she longed to leave. Leaving would help her let go of all the pain and suffering she was going through. Her tears trickled down, streaking her face. She never had his love, and she never will.
So why was she still here in the rain?
