Please take note that I do not own any of the following locations and Character, with the exception of Collie, and Lucas. Adeline (or at least the concept of her, minus the name) was thought of by my friend Steve, AKA Alphonse, as well as The Guild, and the war between Linblim and Alexandria. So please, Squaresoft, do NOT sue me.
My mother used to tell me stories, I think she made most of them up, but I don't know when she'd get the time to. The one that seems to stand out most to me however, is the one that she told about herself and father. I still don't know whether to believe it or not. She told me about the mist, and an evil man named Kuja. I adopted people from her stories as my heroes, and always wondered how they would handle a situation. Of course, when I learned that everything she had ever told me had been true, I was in for a shock.
It all started when a super-powerful group of rebels called The Guild began to attack Lindblum and Alexandria. I was about twelve, and wanted nothing more than to go and help my father. His name was Vivi Orunitia, and he was a black mage working for Queen Garnet in Alexandria. My mother told me how I could only stay and wait for the war to end because father wouldn't want anything to happen to me, but when the war didn't end, I grew restless.
"So we're really going to Alexandria?" Collie, my best friend, asked me.
We had just left Treno, and were on our way to assist in making a treaty with Lindblum. Alexandria and Lindblum had been close allies until about two years into the war, when Queen Garnet got sick, and a strange man named Lucas took over for her. It was said that he was her uncle, so when she finally did pass away without an heir or a husband, it was unanimous that he should take over, since he was already making most of the important decisions. That's when the rumors had begun to spread. There were so many flying around, that sometime one would doubt the kingdom that they themselves were loyal to. It was said that Lindblum was going to side with The Guild to overthrow Alexandria, and the same was said, except reversed, about Alexandria. It seemed as if fate were playing the two great kingdoms against one another. Now, it seemed that Lucas was finally realizing that The Guild was just using the tension to further the rebellion. If the two biggest kingdoms were too stubborn to help each other, they'd surely fall.
"Yep, and once we get there, we can find my father, and see what needs to be done." I said, hoisting my backpack over one shoulder and adjusting my hat.
Collie had been my best friend for as long as I can remember, and I greatly appreciated her company, no matter how jealous I sometimes was of her. Collie was one of those people everyone liked, not because she had things, or was just a popular bitch, but because she was nice, pretty, and any other girl in existence would kill to be her. Collie had long, straight, brown hair that hung halfway down her back in a loose ponytail. She had bright blue eyes that reflected light like diamonds, and a laugh like bells ringing. I told her everything, and she did the same with me. We were inseparable.
"How long has it been since you've seen him anyhow Adeline?" She wondered out loud, counting the years in her head.
"It must have been about six years, he left when I was ten...so, yeah." I replied.
She was right, I hardly remembered him, and yet I was walking into a war to help him. I shrugged, and decided not to really think about it. I'd wanted to help for four years, and now was my chance. There was no going back.
