Somebody somewhere turns off the light, somebody all alone faces the night - "and you've got to be strong when you are out on your own." She used to say; "Because sooner or later, we all sleep alone."
Limbs were rigid, his face was cold, his heart empty each time such a place was visited; "Mom…" Bright yellow, his finger held slender rose, one meticulously picked out if the rest – a gift about to be offered before that silent realm. Very slowly, structure lowered then, sitting down with legs crossed, only seeking some intimacy; "It's been… Eighteen years already since you been gone." A sigh energed, although a weak smile did help to proceed; "A lot of stuff has happened since the last time we talked… Y'probably know already about dad and gramps… No one is the same anymore." Smile widening slightly, silverly trail started rushing his scarred cheek – perhaps consciously, perhaps not… Not that it mattered there; "Did you know became an S-Class? I did as you told me and… Became as tough as I could." A sniff escaped, with it a hand rubbing his face to get rid of the sorrowful feeling; "Heh… I… I also have somebody by my side now… Her name is Cana. I'm not sure if I ever told you about her… She really can be a pain in the ass at times, with her drinking and yelling but… I feel like I can finally dedicate myself to someone, at last… She even kinda reminds me of you with that mood she has." Subtle chuckle sailing through inner sobbing, the warrior's gaze traveled upwards, towards a cloudless blue sky. The moment lingered, and with it, a he inhaled deeply – all before lowering back back again.
"I still miss you, mom… Happy birthday."
Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail, just this story. This is originally planned as a one-shot story, but might continue if muse strikes for it (I'm awful when it comes down to updates though...) Just want to say I cried writing it.
