Blame Your Son

Nick's parents had just got settled in at Nick and Jackie's house and everyone was getting ready to enjoy the roast and garlic potatoes Jackie had made for dinner. Roger and Jill had decided to go down to Vegas to spend some time with the grandkids.

"Here Jackie, you go sit down, I'll finish." Jill offered as she walked up next to Jackie.

"Oh, I've got it, you're a guest, I can do it, it's almost done anyways." Jackie assured her with a smile.

"I wish you were closer to your due date, I am so excited I can hardly stand it." Jill told her daughter in law.

"I wish I was closer too, believe me." Jackie quipped back.

"So I know with one baby you are considered full term between 38-40 weeks but with twins is it different?" Jill asked.

"Actually they changed it, now with one baby you aren't considered full term until 39-40 weeks, they added a week."

"Well that will make expectant mothers thrilled." Jill said sarcastically.

"No kidding." Jackie agreed.

"So is it different with twins?"

"Yeah, actually with twins you are considered full term at 37 weeks but I'd just as soon they stay in longer if possible, as badly as I want them here the longer they stay in the better it is for them."

"That's true, so we just need to be patient, although, I know that's easier said than done, especially for you."

"Yeah." Jackie agreed with a smile.

"So how many weeks are you now?" Jill asked.

"I'll be 25 weeks on Saturday so I still have a while."

Jill smiled at her.

"I also wish you would change your mind and find out if the other little one is boy or a girl, it's driving me crazy, I just have to know, please Jackie."

"Don't blame me for that, blame your son, it's driving me crazy too. It's Nick that wanted to be surprised."

"Nicholas." Jill told him in a stern voice.

Nick laughed.

"You'll both find out before you know it." He assured both his wife and his mother, it was never good when Jackie and his mother ganged up on him and it happened surprisingly frequently.

Despite the pleading by both Jill and Jackie Nick held firm and wouldn't agree to find out if the other baby was a boy or a girl.

The two women vowed to not give up though!
