Me: Hi! My first Naruto fic! I have come to love Naruto very much! Anyhow. This story is a sweet Team Gai fic. Thank you!

Disclaimer: Lauren does not own Naruto. If she did, Kiba would go into heat and have Neji as a mate.

The rain was beating down hard, clear drops of water slid down forgotten kunais and shurikens. Crimson blood was being washed away, as salty tears slid down soft, pale cheeks. A teenaged girl was cradling a boy's head in her lap as the life drained out of him. Another boy in green spandex was knelt down, crying his round eyes out.

"Tenten, Lee... don't... cry over... me..." the limp boy choked, coughing up vermillion blood. His eyes were fighting to stay open, and his eyebrows were clenched together in pain.
"I'm not... worth it. So... please don't... cry." he continued. The spandex wearing boy, Lee, shook his head, disagreeing with the other male.
"No, Neji... your worth everything..." he replied. "So please don't die!" Tenten clenched her eyes. 'Why?' she thought. 'Why does it have to be this way? Why does Neji have to die?'

Neji lifted his hands up and clenched his comrades cheeks. He shook his head, and sighed softly. 'I don't want to die... but this is fate... I guess.' he thought.
"Lee, Tenten... I wanted to see you both become Jonin... ANBU even..." he paused to cough again. "Tenten, I wanted to see you become an excellent kunoichi,
just like your idol, Tsu-nade-sama... and Lee, I wanted to see you defeat a genius with hard work..." he sighed again. "But I guess I can't..." his eyes closed for a few seconds, then opened again. White orbs with grey tints met chocolate brown and coal black. He knew he would die someday, but not like this. He didn't think Lee and Tenten would be this emotional about it.

"Would you do me a favour and tell Hinata that she can surpass me and Hanabi and become the head of the Hyuuga clan? And tell Naruto that he'll become and excellent Hokage in the future?" he asked. They nodded. How could they not? This was their comrade, no... friend's last wish.

Tenten wondered how Neji had gotten hit by that jutsu. Oh, thats right. Neji had jumped infront of her and Lee. She will never forgive herself for being weak.

Lee remembered the moments he and Neji had. When they first met, at the Chunin exams, after the Sasuke Retrieval Mission, and many other times. His tears increased as he remembered how beat up Neji had looked when he saw him after the Sasuke Retrieval Mission. He looked so small, so fragile, as if he could break at the slightest touch.

"You two... I'm at my limit now... but... don't forget... I'll always be in... your hearts... always with you. Because... I love... you both..." he finished. He smiled as his arms dropped to his sides, and his eyes fluttered closed. These were his friends, his team mates, his allies, his comrades. They were his second family, along Gai-sensei.

As his breathing ceased and his heartbeat slowed, he heard the sound of his name being called by his two most dearest people.

"Neji! No! Don't die! We'll bring the medics! Please! Just don't die! Neji!" and then, he slipped into the darkness, never to open his eyes again.

(A week later)

Tenten was sobbing into Lee's shoulder as she listened to the priest say how much of a good fellow Neji was. His gravestone rested underneath a white blossom tree.

They had lost a compainion. A team mate. A comrade. A friend. A dear person. A part of themselves. But they both knew he was with them forever...
