Far-Off Memories
Sum: Daisuke Motomiya had no memory of her life before she was six. She didn't remember her birth parents or where she came from. The only thing she had was her name, a few scattered memories in her dreams, and an odd blue pendant. But when she joins Kari and T.K into the Digital World that fateful day in the computer lab it would seem that the Digital World holds some clues of who she used to be.
WARNINGS, BIG WARNINGS ARE BOLDED, and I will ranting for a few of my reasons:
FEMALE DAISUKE (DAVIS)! (Why? Because I wanted to that's why)
Kingdom Hearts crossover (but it's going to be slow burn for a while, for now we're going to stay in the Digimon universe)
Swearing (I'll try to tone it down but no real promises, rated T for this reason)
Darkness (evil) fears/has no effect on Daisuke (Daisuke (Male) wasn't fooled by MaloMyotismon's dream world (And was able to turn the tides using the 'Wish') and snapped everyone else out of it, wanted Ken in their group after the whole Digimon Emperor thing in like 0.2 seconds after it happened despite EVERYTHING Ken had done and no matter what everyone else said, and has never once caused Veemon to Digivolve into a 'feral'/'dangerous' version of himself. All in all those are just some reasons why I started to like Daisuke more.)
Miracles is a powerful thing and a Crest (One of my main peeves in season two of Digimon was how downplayed Daisuke's power with the Digi-Egg of Miracles (and how it was not a crest) is, its FREAKING Miracles, MIRACLES! Amazing things can happen because of a Miracle and having someone who can use the Digi-Egg of Miracles, who needed to be strong and good to use Miracles regardless, only for it NOT to be an official crest ticked me off because I felt like it suited Daisuke perfectly other than just inheriting Courage and Friendship. But for the sake of it I'll try not to make it too OP however)
Daisuke was adopted by the Motomiya's (How she came into their care, they told her how they found her, is a huge hint to her that she isn't normal per say)
Keyblader Daisuke (I love fighter Daisuke, honestly Daisuke never seemed like someone who would stand back and let people/digimon fight alone, people fighting for their friends and peace are the reason why I really liked Digimon Frontier a lot.)
Maybe more?
Pairings:
Will be showen later.
I do not own Kingdom Hearts or Digimon but man, wouldn't that be cool if I did.

"-DAISUKE! NO!"
Dark brown eyes snapped open in a panic, the violent and sudden awakening caused the one that had been asleep to take a sharp inhale of air as their upper body sprang up from the bed they had been laying on. There was no noise in the room other than the heavy shaky breathing of the one that had been woken up from their nightmare, the moonlight being the only light that was in the otherwise dark room as the heavy erratic breathing began to slow down.
Long burgundy hair fell gracefully from small shoulders as the person, a young girl from the shape of the body and nightgown she had worn that night hinted at, took a deep controlled breath and tilted her head back. Even though her breathing had calmed down her eyes were not, they shook with an unfocused look and tears were threatening to fall from them.
Taking another breath the girl raised a hand to her face and rubbed lightly as if to calm herself down the nightmare she had.
'Again? Really another nightmare?' The young girl thought in both annoyance and worry as she moved her hand down her face and to the back of her neck to give that a small rub 'This is like the ninth one this month alone, it's just getting worse and worse and it keeps waking me up!… What time is it anyways? I swear if I woke up before three again I am going to find a way to just knock myself out just so I can get some sleep.'
Casting a quick look to her alarm clock, the girl groaned lightly when she caught the time and fell backwards onto her bed. Both of her hands flying up during the fall and she had placed them to the sides of her head and gripped her hair lightly as she thought 'Really?! My nightmare woke me up six hours before school even starts. Good job brain, or memory whatever this is, you are now the most hated part of me for life.'
Giving a sigh, the girl blinked her brown eyes and stared at the ceiling above her, losing herself in her thoughts for a moment 'But still… My nightmares are getting more and more frequent, this is the fourth one in a row this week and it wouldn't be so bad if I even knew just what was freaking me out in them to begin with. Just what does all that mean? Who was yelling at me? Why were we yelling and sounding so desperate? Come on Daisuke, this is your own memory you should be able to answer this…'
She gave another sigh as she thought it over but knew that no matter what she tried to do her mind would give her no answer despite a small part of her wondering if she shouldn't know the answers to her memories and dreams. Namely because she knew whatever connection her dreams and memories had it wasn't going to be a walk in the park, mainly because of how utterly terrified the person that had been yelling at her sounded.
Daisuke Motomiya knew she was different than others, and not in an 'Oh everyone is different because we are' kind of way. No she didn't mean it like that different.
Daisuke knew she was different because what child suddenly shows up in golden light from the sky with no memory other than her first name. Or at least that's what the Motomiya family had told her when she had awoken in their home that fateful day all those years ago.
Closing her eyes Daisuke took a breath, it had been few years since she last thought of how she came to Odaiba in the first place.
According to Jun and her parents they had been walking home from a restaurant in celebration of their big move to Odaiba last week, they had decided to take the long way home and took a detour into the park nearby their apartment building. Jun's parents had been laughing and smiling, talking about their new jobs and Jun's first day at her new school tomorrow. All in all the walk in the park was peaceful and wonderful for the Motomiya family as thy started a new chapter in their lives.
Then without any warning, a light suddenly shined into existence during their walk.
A beautiful and warm light that had gotten the Motomiya's instant attention and had them frozen in their spot as they watched it float in front of them, for a moment it just... floated there. Not doing anything or nothing but they all had a feeling it was watching them before it seemed to make up its mind because it began to grow bigger and bigger. The warm feeling from the light even grew warmer as it grew bigger before just as suddenly as the light had appeared it had broken apart and scattered around them in a flash, however it seemed to had left something behind in its wake... Or rather it left someone behind.
Because the light had left her in its place.
For a moment as the light scattered off she had been floating in midair and glowing a golden glow around her, a young six year old with long burgundy colored hair wearing a beautiful blue and gold colored dress that flowed past her knees and she had on clean white gloves. The thing about the dress was that it was extremely well made from the color of blues it had to the gold details on the dress to even the gold color stars on her leggings. A dress that Daisuke still had in her room and had put away when she had gotten too big for it.
It had shocked the Motomiyas speechless but as the glow around her faded she began to fall forward. It was Naoko Motomiya who had snapped out of his shock just in time to rush forward and catch her falling body before she could hit the concrete pathway below head first. It wasn't long after that Jun and her mother Etsuko Motomiya had also snapped out of their own shock that they rushed over to the two.
For the adult Motomiyas they had been shocked at what they had just witnessed. A sudden glowing light appearing than disappearing away after it dropped a young child in their path? It was like something out of a fantasy book or even a movie and yet it happened in real life!
Jun on the other hand was amazed and excited to see a younger girl appear out of a shining light, and the dress she was wearing was like a princess dress! Jun would admit to her a few years later she had believed Daisuke was a magical princess 'blame Sailor Moon for that thought' Jun explained to her when she questioned her sister about it and that she had thought Daisuke been sent to earth for protection from an evildoer.
After a few minutes of talking it over in hushed tones, with Etsuko checking her over due to being a nurse and noted that she was only passed out and nothing critical seemed to be wrong with the sleeping child, Naoko and Etsuko had decided to take her home with them because there was no way they could explain to the police what they had saw without being questioned for their sanity or being accused of kidnapping the poor child. And they knew they couldn't lie about because Etsuko hated lying and Naoko couldn't lie to save his life. So they did the only thing they could think of at the moment, and that was to take her home and allow her to rest so when she woke up they could ask who she is.
Daisuke remembered waking up the next morning, her mind blank for a moment before she grew dazed and confused of what had happened to her. She remembered slowly blinking at the ceiling above her and scrunching up her face at it before she rose up from her spot and took in the place she was in. She was in the Motomiya's apartment living room and had been sleeping on their couch for the night.
Blinking a few times little Daisuke had titled her head as she looked around the room more but stopped when she heard a door open. Turning her head to the noise Daisuke watched as a door, not too far from her opened up and an older but still young girl with spiky dusty rose colored hair walking out of the room with a yawn as she rubbed her eyes with her hand. Without noticing her guest was awake, the older girl walked to the kitchen that was just a few feet from the living room and roamed around in it for a moment, taking out a bowl from a cabinet and setting it on top of the counter space in the kitchen before grabbing a box of cereal not too far from her spot.
The older girl had yawned again before finally opening her eyes all the way as she opened and poured the cereal into the bowl. Daisuke remembered just watching as the girl went about her daily route never once noticing she was up until the older girl cast a look in her direction.
The older girl however froze when her eyes made contact with hers and for a moment it felt like time stopped for them both however the ticking of the clock on the wall that was the only sound in the quiet room said otherwise, then what seemed like forever the older girl yelled out for her parents and told them to come quick.
Daisuke had jumped scared, confused, and surprised at the sudden yelling the girl she would later find out was Jun had done. She jumped again when a door slammed open and out of it came two adults in a wild panic, both breathing out of breath from the shock of being woken up by their screaming daughter but before they could question Jun they noticed she was staring at where their guest was sleeping as if she didn't notice her parents enter the room.
Etsuko and Naoko Motomiya, names Daisuke would learn later once they introduced themselves, had come storming out in a blind panic at their daughter yelling for them. Etsuko opened her mouth ready to scold her daughter for yelling so early in the morning while they had a sleeping guest in the same room and for nearly causing them a heart attack but stopped when she looked to where her daughter was looking. Etsuko froze in place as her husband asked quickly to Jun "Why did you yell Jun?"
However Naoko didn't get an answer from his daughter, instead he felt his wife lightly nudge him with her hand as she continued to stare at their now awake guest. Naoko turned to his wife confused and questioning, but stopped when his eyes had caught a quick glimpse of burgundy hair and dark brown eyes peeking from over the living room couch.
It took the family a second to finally understand what was happening but when they did Jun was happily bouncing over to their now awake guest, and before Naoko or Etsuko could stop their daughter she had begun to question Daisuke just about everything about her as she took a hold of Daisuke's shoulders and began to shake her back and forth in pure excitement.
"HI! My name is Jun! Who are you? What's your name? Are you a princess? What kingdom are you from? Are you from a different world like a magical one? Did you come to earth to hide from an evil villain? Do you have a talking animal side-kick or a whole group of knights that protect you-" etc etc.
Those questions Jun asked, and the shaking, had made Daisuke head spin in confusion and panic but was quickly saved by the Motomiya parents. Etsuko had scolded her daughter for it while Naoko tried his best to calm down a sick looking Daisuke. It would take a while for Daisuke to finally calm down from the force known as Jun but when she did she finally realized something.
"Where am I?" Daisuke remembered asking, confused at where she was at all.
"Odaiba, it's close to Tokyo." Etsuko said as kindly as she could. She didn't know if the girl know about lesser known places in Japan, she could tell the girl was Japanese or at least half from the way her eyes were shaped and from the fact she understood and spoke Japanese easily but the girl had many other facial features that didn't seem to hint at what else she was. So Etsuko went with the safe bet of telling the girl a well-known place.
"Oh… What's Tokyo?" Daisuke had asked, even more confused as she titled her head to the side eyes blinking at them. That question sent the Motomiya's silent for a bit, even Jun was silent at that innocent question.
"Tokyo... Japan?" Naoko had asked nervously sending a concerned look to his wife.
"Oh…" Daisuke responded lightly before she tilted her head again but this time to the other side "What's Japan?"
Etsuko had frowned at the question but being a nurse she hoped the signs she was seeing was untrue "Sweetie, can I ask you something?"
Daisuke had hummed out a positive sound as she turned her attention to the woman who came a bit closer to her and knelt down in front of her.
"Can you tell us your name?" Etsuko had asked as kindly and calmly as she could, praying a bit in her head that she would get an answer.
"Oh my name is…" Little Daisuke had started to say but stopped for a moment as her eyes widened when she finally realized something.
What was her name?...
...That had been strange.
To suddenly realize she didn't know who she was, what her name was. It was even stranger for her mind to accept the fact that people had names but for some odd reason…
She couldn't remember hers.
Present day Daisuke grimaced to herself as she remembered her reaction to the fact she couldn't remember what her name was.
Or for that matter... Who she was.
She had lost her breath, the noise around her began to fade into nothing but muffles, her mind had whirled in a panic as a thousand questions raced into her head and her vision began to fade into darkness around her. She couldn't feel anything, not around or even in her, like she suddenly became numb to everything and everyone.
'Who am I? What is my name? Who are my parents? Where is mommy and daddy? Do I even have parents? Where is my home? WHO AM I! WHO AM I?!' her mind screamed in the darkness and numb feelings making her feel sick and terrible at the same time.
"…!" a voice called out, breaking past the soundless panic she was in. Daisuke was pulled out of her raging thoughts because of that and could sense the world returning to her. The soundless void her mind had made her enter began to fill up with voices trying to calm her down and get her attention. She could feel someone holding onto her shoulders in a tight but gentle grip, and air had returned to her lungs as she gasped. She blinked a few times and finally realized that Etsuko was now even more in front of her holding her as gently as she could and had a very worried look on her face.
"Sweetie. Can you hear me?! I need you to breathe okay, take a deep breath and count with me!" Etsuko had sternly said as she tried so hard not to reach for a phone and call the hospital.
"I-I…" Daisuke had tried to say but the words were beginning to choke up in her throat her body shaking from everything, unsure of what to do or say. "I-I do-n't…W-Who I-I?.."
Her breath had hitched hard and it felt like a lump was in her throat as she tried to make sense of what she was feeling. Daisuke blinked and before she knew it she could feel something wet rolling down her cheeks. Her heart felt heavy and longing for something she didn't know of. Something she couldn't recall despite knowing other things.
She knew what parents were, she knew what a name was, and she knew what home meant.
And it scared her that she couldn't remember anything about herself.
She didn't know anything about herself but accepted the fact she was a she, a girl with no question at all. She didn't know what her favorite food was but knew what spice, sweet, sour, tart, and bland tasted like. She couldn't remember what her favorite color was but knew what colors were what.
She knew what light and darkness was, what the sun and moon were, left and right, good and evil, happy and sad. She knew all of those easily with no question or confusion but she couldn't remember who she was. It was like anything personal about herself was gone from her mind but general everyday things stayed.
Present day Daisuke's eyes softened a bit as she remembered how Etsuko Motomiya had told her breathe, to take a breath in and out, to follow her breathing and count with her. It had taken a while before little her had finally calmed down and by then her tears were mostly gone, her eyes a little puffy and red from all the crying she had done, her breathing had returned to somewhat normal though she did take a few shaky breaths in every so often.
She felt so tired after that ordeal but eventually had answered the forgotten question "I… I don't know who I am…"
Upon hearing that Etsuko had gave her a pitying look and a little sigh, her hunch was sadly right. Naoko looked very alarmed but didn't say anything knowing to let his wife take control of the situation. Even Jun had been silent during Daisuke's panic attack and didn't know what to do but knew better than to interrupt a moment like this.
Etsuko stared with a calm but saddened look before she slowly reached over and patted her head softly before she said "It's okay sweetie, it seems like you have amnesia meaning you've lost your memories. Now there is a chance that in a few days or even months you'll get them back but I'm not going to lie or hide this because I don't believe in sugarcoating things... There is also a chance you might never get them back. The mind is a very complex thing and sometimes people who get amnesia will get their memories back in a few days to years or some don't get them back at all..."
Naoko given his wife a little disproving look at the bluntness but also knew how his wife was so he couldn't really fault her. He then turned his attention back to Daisuke and gave her a rather sad but kind smile as he said "I think it's best for you to keep resting for now okay sweetie? I have to drop Jun off at school before I head to work but my wife Etusko here is off-duty today so she'll be watching over you. We can talk later a little bit about how you came here and maybe that might help jog your memories. Oh my name is Naoko Motomiya by the way."
Daisuke gave him a nod, feeling tired from everything while Jun gave a pout and started to lightly argue with her father at the fact that she was going to school, she wanted to stay home and get to know the mysterious girl more! Naoko had gave his daughter a frown and went to scold her for being rude to their guest feelings.
However it seemed like the strange surprises that Daisuke brought with her wasn't done as of yet.
As she sniffled and as the last bit of tears finally began to fade from her eyes, Daisuke stared downwards to her lap where her hands laid. Clutching them both she raised one hand to her right cheek and began to wipe away the last of her tears. As she did her best to wipe the last of her tears, Daisuke suddenly froze, she could feel something, a strange feeling, inside herself making her stop for a second. She didn't know what it meant but the feeling was telling her to wait for a moment.
'Your hand.' A voice, a voice that was merely a voice spoke in her mind. It was soft and kind sounding but also very old and wise. The voice was familiar however, like she had heard it before but couldn't place where she heard it before. 'Look upon your hand dear child…'
She was unsure of what it meant but cast a look at the hand that had been wiping the last of tears away. Slowly but surely she opened her hand and noticed something was in it.
It was a single little drop of a tear that was resting on her palm.
Daisuke stared at the tear drop for a moment in confusion before she decided to try to wipe it off with her other hand, then suddenly the tear began to glow a golden color. Daisuke jerked her head back in surprise but was still enough to keep her hand unmoving, she watched in awe as the tear glowed brighter and brighter. She ignored the sudden surprised gasps from the Motomiya family around her and they too watched in awe at the sudden glowing tear drop.
When the tear glowed even brighter, it suddenly floated out of the palm of her hand and hovered above it. Daisuke eyes grew wide as she watched her tear begin to change shape right in front of her. She couldn't make out the details but she could see her teardrop change to a bigger shape and into something new. Then as quickly as the glow had happened with a sudden light and bubbly sounding 'Pop' the light disappeared and something far heavier than a tear landed on her hand.
Daisuke blinked in confusion at what had just happened but looked at the new thing that had appeared. It looked about the size of an adults thumb and seemed to be made of light metal by the feel of the weight. It was shaped like a bit like a cartoon raindrop only thinner and the tip didn't end with a sharp top, instead it curved into a round top and outlined a hole just below it, indicating that a string can be pulled through it. The strange looking raindrop was a beautiful cerulean color but was trimmed by a gold outline. And at the bottom round part of the raindrop on each side was a little hole. It seemed to be a type of jewelry or a charm but was unsure of what it was.
Daisuke stared at the new item in her and turned her attention away to catch a glimpse of the Motomiya family, the adults looking stunned and a bit stressed while Jun just looked like her day was getting better and better, but given the fact that such strange things were happening all at once it was no wonder, before little Daisuke returned to the strange raindrop.
She frowned her eyes narrowed just a bit at it. Something… Something about it seemed… Familiar to her. She… She just couldn't place a finger on why it seemed important to her. Daisuke began to fiddle with the strange raindrop, inspecting it and turning it around to see the back and noticed the other side held no markings or details.
"What is that?" Jun asked excited as she tried to lean over to Daisuke in order to take a peek.
"I… I don't know…" Daisuke muttered lowly as she returned the raindrop back to its front and stared as the blue middle shining in the light. She had ran her thumb over the strange item and tilted her head to the side. "But… I think I've seen it before?"
Suddenly her eyes widened as she heard a kind, and soft voice spoke inside her mind. It was a little foggy but she could hear the words whoever spoke clearly to her.
It was, the words... So warm and wonderful...
"…We love you Daisuke, never forget that. Our little miracle..."
"…My name…" Daisuke muttered softly as the light of recognition entered her eyes.
"What was that?" Naoko asked, still a little stunned with what happened but had heard Daisuke mutter to herself.
"My name is Daisuke!" She had shouted out, a smile etched its way on her face. Stunning the Motomiya family at her sudden shout.
It felt right, that name, it was hers! She knew it was her name no doubt about it.
"It's Daisuke! I remembered my name!"
She couldn't help but laugh brightly with joy after that as hope filled inside her heart. If she had managed to remember her name, who knows what else she could remember...
Present day Daisuke sighed a little after that. Despite remembering her name only a few things returned to her after nearly five years, she knew when her birthday was, what her favorite color was, her favorite type of food, and a few other small things.
But nothing huge. Nothing like…
What her last name was, who her parents are, not even where her home was. Just nothing like that...
It was very frustrating and upsetting that even after nearly five years, Daisuke couldn't remember anything close about who she used to be.
Closing her eyes, Daisuke gave out a sigh but smiled lightly as she recalled that despite the gap in her memories, she had so far a good and decent life since the Motomiya family took her in. They were nice, kind and wonderful people that helped her 'fit' in with a new life in Odaiba. They didn't dare turn her away not with her memories missing or call the police, because who would believe them that a little girl suddenly showed up in a ball of light at the park.
When it became apparent Daisuke might not learn anymore of who she used to be after four months of trying, the Motomiya helped give her an identity in Japan. Naoko had an old childhood friend that might had dabbled in some illegal things and had owed Naoko a huge favor since they had been Middle Schoolers. With his help Daisuke was given a well-made fake identity along with a birth certificate and had been given the name Daisuke Motomiya, mostly to avoid people asking why her last name was different than the family she was staying with. They also faked school records for the girl so she could at least go to school, only to avoid people asking why she wasn't in school and thankfully they didn't need to teach her most of the basics of school subjects it turned out education was also something Daisuke remembered with ease but with only a few hiccups with a few words she had to relearn how to write.
It was a little hard, for both the Motomiya family and Daisuke, to get used to one of another. Daisuke learning how to act like she belonged in the family but was rather an outgoing and happy little girl with a large wanderlust for adventure and was curious about everything, while the Motomiya's got used to having another child around their apartment and lives, Jun had to be told countless times before being dropped off at school not to tell anyone how Daisuke came into their family.
Within a span of two years eventually they all learned how to function with each other. There was no longer any slip ups from the Motomiya family almost admitting that Daisuke wasn't their daughter/sister, that was mostly Naoko who would almost slip because he was a terrible liar or from Daisuke who would sometimes almost mention that she had no real memories of who she used to be or who her real family was.
Being Daisuke Motomiya became second nature to her and her adopted family now.
Taking a breath Daisuke pulled herself out of her thoughts and shifted to lay on her side her eyes still closed, maybe now that her mind was finally calming down she could finally get some sleep before school start-
"Daisuke, it's time to wake up now. You don't want to miss your first day of school do you?!" Came a voice from outside of her room and a few knocks on the door. She knew that voice however, it was her adopted mother Etusko Motomiya.
Daisuke's eyes snapped open and she quickly pulled herself up from her spot, she gave the door a rather stunned look before she slowly turned her head to her alarm clock on the desk across her room and her eye twitched at the time that was seen on the screen.
Three hours… She spent nearly three hours lost in her thoughts and now she had only about three hours to get ready for school…
Giving a rather unflattering moan and groan, Daisuke flung herself backwards on her bed and put her pillow over her face before she did what all young girls did when angry.
She screamed into it in frustration.
Oh wow… Oh man… I worked… So hard on this. (And I still hate it a little bit)
I absolutely hate working on starting chapters because they are a pain for me to get right the first time.
But anyways I hoped you all enjoyed this story so far and I will be writing more soon.
And answers will come for Daisuke… Sooner or later.
Also be on the look out for more fanfictions from me! I have like 2 other Digimon fanfictions in the works and everything and both are Female Daisuke. (And like 5 other ideas that I haven't written yet)
One is a multi-chapter called "Kindness and Miracles" (hinthint)
And the other is a one-shot/crossover story. Its a Digimon/Big Hero 6, with a Daisuke/Tadashi center point, and its called "Tadashi 'Squeaks' Hamada"
