Her History
"See? I told you I would find all of the tapes that we have of Jasmine's skating." Mokuba said proudly. He handed the DVDs he burned to Yugi. Yugi smiled as he asked "Do you guys tape all of her skating?" Mokuba said "A few maybe missing, there's the one Nationals we missed." Mokuba beamed. Yugi remembered when he first saw Hazuki and how shocked he was. He was hurt when she died, and shed tears, he was happy that he got to meet her at least. Mokuba went to get some drinks, seeing as it was hot and sticky, since it was summer.
Yugi didn't really obey Hazuki's request or his own thoughts for that matter, but he was really curious about her past. He was done being curious, he had been for the past 5 years and decided to do something about it on his 25th birthday.
Yugi watched almost all of the videos, except for the one DVD, the one that held Hazuki's Olympic performance. He saw that she rarely fell, and didn't give up whenever she did; she just continued her performance, especially when she was in juniors when skaters just stopped when they fell. Tea, Joey, and Tristan watched all of the DVDs with him and they all wanted to see the last one, the Olympic performance.
The last DVD wasn't like the others though; it was like a video journal. It began with Hazuki smiling and waving to the camera. Then they heard someone that sounded like Mokuba saying "Come on Jasmine, say something, this is your first Olympics, enjoy it!" She said "Fine Mokuba! Hey future me, Mokuba, Seto, and everyone else out there! I'm finally here at the Olympics! I worked hard and I'm going to the top! Is that enough Mokuba?" Mokuba said "No!" Then Hazuki said "I know what's enough!" and she started throwing pillows at the camera. "Ok, ok!" Mokuba cried and the camera went off.
There was a 4-hour long opening ceremony along with a lot of introductions.
Then pictures of her in a small rink doing jumps with a lot of other people. Then the camera went back to Mokuba saying "Sorry, I couldn't tape your short program, but I going to tape the long one, I promise!" With that it went all black and a few minutes later, there was Hazuki in a pure white costume, make-up, and pure white skates on. Her hair was down, except for the top layer, which was tied. If you looked at her skates, you could see that she signed the corners of the boots on her skates. She smiled and lifted her arms above her head and crossed them. The announcer was saying "There are many words to describe this young girl's skating like awesome, powerful, amazing. Jasmine is a young Japanese girl raised in England and she lives on a horse farm, rides and skates."
Then you could hear the song Fallin by Alicia Keys begin to play. She began slowly bringing her arms down and turned. She then started doing swivels backwards as she lifted her arms. Then she skated backwards and kept going around the rink with various motions and then she did a triple axel. Then she kept skating around and did a camel spin. She seemed to let herself go. She kept doing these spins, jumps, and one humongous butterfly. She kept going with the music and kept doing triple triples. Then near the ending a spiral sequence and a layback spin. As the music stopped she slowly put her arms around herself. "She has just made herself known to the world!" one announcer said. "Yea, did you see the signatures she made on her boots, she must have got that from Peggy Flemming, who also did that." The crowd then burst into applause, Hazuki couldn't stop smiling as she made her final bows. She won a gold medal at her first Olympics, which was amazing.
