"Mama there's a crying lady at the door" a 4 year Sofia called to Arizona as she opened the door.
"Sofia what are you tal...oh" Arizona abruptly stopped as she noticed the teenage girl in tears at her door "come in honey are you okay" the girl just shook her head and carried on crying as Arizona held her in her arms. "Sofia sweetie close the door" Arizona said to her daughter and she slowly pulled away from the crying teenager. "Do you want to tell me what's going on?" Arizona asked.
"I-er-my m-mum" she chocked out before bursting into tears again.
"Shh she it's okay" Arizona soothed, stroking the girls hair. "What about your mum?" She asked. "Deep breaths honey, you can tell me"
"She hates me" the teenager blurted as she began to cry again.
"Hey hey hey that's not true" she assured "don't cry come on. You going to tell me why you think that?" Arizona asked.
"I''m gay and she hates me now because I told her and that's why I came here to talk to Callie because I know she's gay too and I...she hates me" Realisation hit Arizona. Callie's family where far from accepting, just look what happened to her. And her being Callie's cousin explains why she's here now.
"Okay baby girl calm down" Arizona said "I'm Arizona" she announced smiling "Your cousin Callie's wife, that's Sofia" she said gesturing to the 4 year old colouring on the floor "and you are" she finally asked.
"Emily er Emily Fields" she told the blonde "my mum is Callie's aunt Pam".
"Well it's lucky you came when you did because Sofia and I have cakes in the oven" Arizona said cheerfully as she got up to check on them.
"I was wondering what that smell was" Emily said with a hint of a smile.
"Want one?" Arizona asked and Emily nodded "Callie is due back at 7 errm in like 40 minutes" she paused a second "wanna help cook? I was going to make pasta bake" Arizona asked hoping it would take her mind of things till Callie got home.
"Sure" Emily agreed "I catered for a party at work a few weeks back"
"Oh yeah? How'd that go?" Arizona asked.
"Maybe you should stick to the actual cooking" Emily laughed and Arizona joined in. She liked this girl. Once everything was sorted with her mum Arizona believed she and Emily would have a lot of fun together . Now they just had to wait for Callie.
