Notes: I don't own Death Note, blah blah blah. Lightly suggested LightxL, I suppose? :D

Also, I wrote this roughly... two years ago? And I have not changed/edited it at all. But I've been on for so long, I decided I should contribute something. xD So, here's my stupid something. Yeah, it's got a typical fear of thunderstorms, it's not really super original or anything, but I decided to slap it up here to be a good sport.

Light Yagami stared up at the ceiling, his hands folded behind his auburn hair. It had been a long day, and he was tired, but he absolutely refused to go to sleep until Misa was unconscious. She was such a detriment. There was no telling what she would do while he slept. She could choke on her pillow or something and die, and that wouldn't help his predicament. If Misa died, L would be that much more suspicious of him. Or worse. She could rape him. Ugh. Psychotic woman.

He would rather have been alone. But Misa was afraid of thunderstorms. How stupid. What was there to be afraid of? Burning energy shot randomly from floating water droplets? Please. L, on the other hand, wasn't afraid of anything. He was probably still awake, eating cake or something, not even realizing that it was raining cats and dogs and probably Shinigami outside. Ryuzaki would never be afraid of a thunderstorm.

"Misa, I think it's okay to turn the light out," he said soothingly, turning so that she could see his handsome face, his tired mahogany eyes. Of course, she would do it for him.

"O-Okay, Light-kun," she said softly, reaching towards the lamp on her side of the bed. When they first started sharing a bed, Light made it very clear that personal space was what was going to keep them together, and Misa reluctantly complied. The light drained from the room following the sharp "click" of the lamp switch. Light could hear Misa shifting uncomfortably in the bed, could feel her pull the sheets just slightly, tightening them around herself. But soon, she relaxed.

She fell asleep so quickly. That was easier than I thought it would be, he thought as he returned his gaze to the now invisible ceiling. Now that he had the opportunity to sleep, he couldn't. Had he made any mistakes? Was there anywhere he might have slipped up? Ryuzaki could not catch him. He wanted to rule as Kira for a very long time, and not in prison. Light sighed.

Moments later, as Light was slowly nodding off, he felt something brush against his leg. He huffed. Did that woman not understand the meaning of "personal space?" Was that concept so difficult for her? Something brushed him again. He audibly sighed.

"Misa, stop kicking me," he whispered. No response.

It was silent for a second, then Light felt something against his body. Misa… Was she … "snuggling?" It certainly wasn't an accident on her part. This was a full-sized bed. There was room for two people to sleep comfortably without touching. "Misa, back on your side, please."

No response, still. Perhaps she had done it in her sleep. In that case, he had no choice but to wake her up and move her.

Light reached for the switch to the lamp on his side of the bed and clicked it on, then turned to wake Misa.

Then, he froze. He looked down with softened eyes, and then smiled and turned the lamp back off. He shifted and closed his eyes. Who knew? Maybe Ryuzaki was afraid of thunderstorms.

So L had a weakness, however small.
