Fire

Will and Emma had been married now for a few years and they were expecting their first child in about four weeks, and Emma was on maternity leave from work. Even though Emma's OCD was much better then it was in the past Emma tended to clean during the day because she was bored during the day when Will was at work.

It was Friday and Will would soon be coming home from work and Emma wanted to surprise him with a romantic gesture and cook a nice dinner and set the mood with dimmed lights and some candles. Emma placed her container of cleaning supplies in the living area and then began cooking dinner. After she started dinner she left the kitchen to begin lighting some candles. What she didn't realize was one of the candles were not properly secured and fell over into the container filled with the cleaning supplies. Before she knew it she began to smell smoke but realized it was coming from the other room and all of a sudden the fire alarms started to ring. Emma ran into the living room and that's when an aerosol can exploded which knocked Emma off of her feet and she ended up hitting her head on the coffee table, knocking her out.

*Will's POV*

Will was arriving home when he heard the fire alarms going off but didn't realize it was coming from his apartment till he opened the door and saw the ball of fire. Will ran to the kitchen to grab the small fire extinguisher and ran to the living room and that when he saw Emma on the floor with some blood in her hair "Oh god Emma!" Will said dropping everything and pulled Emma out of the way and went to extinguish the fire before it spread, when it seemed to be out he grabbed his phone and rushed back to Emma "Emma honey can you hear me?" Will said dialing 911 "Sweetheart its ok I'm going to get you outside into the fresh air and the paramedics are coming"

Emma began to wake up as she managed to breath in fresh air. "Wh..What happened?" Emma said

"There was a fire, do you remember that?"

"Yeah I remember the explosion but I blacked out after that"

"I came home and found the fire and found you passed out" Will said as Emma tried to sit up "No honey stay lying down, you hit your head on the table" Will said running his fingers through Emma's hair "What started the fire do you know?"

"Well I was surprising you with a romantic dinner and I guess one of the candles fell off the table, I don't really know for sure" Emma started to cry "I'm sorry Will, this is the worst timing for this to happen, and I'm sure there is a lot of damage and its going to be expensive to fix, I'm really sorry"

"Honey please don't cry, I don't care if the apartment burned to the ground to the point where we lost everything, I'm just glad your ok, you are much more important then any apartment. The damage even wasn't that bad we wont be able to live there until the repairs are done but don't you worry about that, let me take care of that problem, I don't need you stressing about it"

"But its all my fault, you shouldn't have to always fix my problems"

"Sweetheart it was an accident you shouldn't be so harsh on your self. Just be glad you got out safely."
