"I wonder what death is like…" the young boy said to no one but himself. "It's probably wonderful, peaceful… even quiet." He sighed and walked across the room towards the kitchen. "I wonder if Seimei will be there probably not." He mused to himself. He opened a drawer and took out a large cutting knife. "Seimei…" he gazed out the window. "Life is so boring. Maybe it will end soon" His tail swayed at an even pace as he gazed out the window for a moment longer before turning and heading over to the counter. He held the knife in his hand and placed the other down. "I wonder if Soubi would miss me…" He raised the knife and cut. Red liquid ran over the counter and dripped onto the floor. He watched it drip around the broken skin then sighed. Just at that moment, he heard the front door open and close. That could only mean one thin: Soubi was home. "Shit" he swore, dropped the knife and rushed to grab some paper towels to clean up his mess.
"Ritsuka? Are you here?" called a soft voice from just out of view.
"Hai! I'm here" he called still trying to wipe up his mess.
Soubi walked into the kitchen and was shocked by the site he saw before him. His lover stood before him in the kitchen, wearing only a short frilly apron. The oven was on and a cake sat neatly inside baking. A few tubs of icing were out and there was a bowl of strawberries on the counter and one on the cutting board that appeared to have exploded. There was sugar and flour everywhere, and Ritsuka was trying to clean up the mess. Soubi couldn't help but smile and stifle a laugh.
He walked over quietly and hugged Ritsuka from behind, causing his younger lover to jump. "Ski Dao, Ritsuka" said Soubi in a voice that made the young boy melt, what is this your trying to do?"
"S-Soubi… Gomen. I-I was just trying to surprise you on your birthday…" his ears pressed to the top of his head, "Sorry for the mess…"
Soubi smiled his same sweet smile and kissed Ritsuka on the cheek, spun his around so they were facing each other, stooped down slightly and gave him a more forceful kiss on the lips. Ritsuka felt Soubi run his tongue over his bottom lip begging for entrance, he quickly obliged. Their tongues met and swirled together in an intimate dance, before they pulled apart. Soubi smirked as he watched Ritsuka turning red.
After a moment Ritsuka looked up at Soubi and said "Happy birthday…Ski Dao, Soubi". As the words left his lips, Ritsuka swore that for the first time, he saw a light blush creep across the man's face. Ritsuka smiled.
