Twilight
In the twilight of the night
I lay in wait
For the one to set me free
I do not see the winged creature
As it swoops and dives
But something's wrong
There's a rustling in the bushes
Just behind me now
I do not see him
Only feel him
It is not the one I wait for but the one I am hiding from
I gasp, I try to scream
But his big, thick hand covers my mouth
The knife is there in an instant
In my back, stealing my life
I start to fade
Never again to wake
