He couldn't think about it. He didn't want to know. The once lovely boy with soft blond curls, green eyes an pretty smile, was now this … mad creature.

What had they done to him? It was unfathomable. But there he was, a spliced monster. No longer was he the boy he knew when ravens wrote on writing desks and bats twinkled only in story books. When tea was merely something warm served with milk and cookies. He hated cookies now.

There was a time when they were just boys with smiles sweet like honey and innocent wonder in their eyes. When the flowers would bloom and reach for the sunshine, singing songs that only they could hear. They would spend days together when they were young. Hand in hand leading each other to adventure. When they were older they would still lead each other only they would steal kisses in the sunshine and share they're secrets under the stars. They would hold each other for hours in the rain and dance in laughter and rain drops.

It was gone now. All of it. That world, those dreams, that boy …gone. Replaced with sorrow, nightmares and monsters. All that was left was a world full of tarnished and rotting wonder and beasts that drained your spirit.

There once was a wonderland, a beautiful place where two boys named David Hatter and Conrad March played, dreamed and loved.

It was now a wasteland where two men named Hatter and Mad March were at war. A empty man with a Tea Shop and a monster with a rabbit head.

As he made his way to his escape his head was bowed in defeat. Oh how he wished that he was holding the hand of that boy he once loved. Pulling him along into the adventure. Like they used to.

A tear rolled down Hatter …David's … face as he stepped through the looking glass. This was what he had to do. Give in, start over, love her. Because …

No amount of gathered hope was going to bring Conrad back.

Read and review. There's cookies and a nice cup of tea in it for you :3
