This is my first fan-fiction ever. I wrote this when I was twelve, I found it in an old notebook and decided to post it! Reviews appreciated and constructive criticism would be great!
Diary of Victor Frankenstein
Am much aggrieved today, as my wonderful oak tree is gone
It happened last night, just a few hours before dawn. There was yet another fierce storm as there frequently is here in Geneva; I swear these mountains draw the lightening, thunder and rain here like steel to a magnet.
I had opened the parlor door so as to better observe this phenomenon. It was then that I witnessed the awe-inspiring, destructive power of the sharp burst of electricity. It was a particularly strong fork of lightening that did it, shot down to the Oak tree, so tall, so strong and full of life. It burned there, alive with the brightest and most ferocious fire imaginable!
I turned away, for fear that my eyes would be seared from their sockets because of the sheer light and heat of it. When I looked back I found my beloved Oak gone, all that remained was a smoldering black stump, barely four hands high. What power must have been contained in that solitary bolt of electricity, to reduce the most alive and luscious tree I had ever laid eyes on, to a darkened lump of coal!
I swear, one day, I will find a way to harness that power, for surely if it can take life away it must be capable of restoring it, to a fit host?
We shall see...
14 years later...
I cannot believe what I have done. I have released unimaginable horror on this world, in the shape of my "Angel". I see now that I was conceited to ever believe that I could play the role of God better than our divine creator. Clerval tried to warn me, stop me, but I didn't listen, Oh, God in Heaven why didn't I listen?
At first agreed, when I showed him the hand I had acquired last night he seemed as excited as I was when I first received a positive result from my experiments.
But now, now he sees, as do I, that this unholy creature should never had been allowed life.
The power of the lightening was never mine to harness...
