All I hear is the rapid beat of his heart as my head lays against his chest. The blanket beneath us shields us from the damp grass, but not the cool breeze.

The dim moonlight faintly illuminates Edward's face, every feature striking. Then he looks down at me, and I realise that I've been staring for too long. I shift my eyes to the starry night sky, and say the first thing that pops into my head.

"The stars are so beautiful, aren't they?" Then, out of the corner of my eye, I see movement. "Oh, look! A shooting star! It's so pretty!" I know I sound like I'm 10 years old, instead of 17, but I don't care.

Edward follows to look where my finger tips are pointing.

"You're my star." He says. It just comes out, sounding so natural. As if he gives uncoordinated dorks like me compliments they don't deserve every day.

I don't know what to say, so instead I reach up and wrap my arms around his neck, giving him a soft, slow hug. When I start to pull away, he grabs my arm and gently pull me back. Somehow, his lips find mine, and it's the best feeling I've ever had.

"Bella" He sighs against my lips, obviously feeling the same contentment as I do right now.

Even though I used to hate him, even though we were sworn enemies at the start of the year, that hate has turned to love. I don't think about what Alice will say. I don't let myself wonder what our class' reaction will be. All that is on my mind is us. Him and me, me and him. One day, it will all end, but right now all that exists is us.
