A/N: Another prompt fill for headfilledwithbirds who requested Paric being giggly in front of Jess & Tara (and the raspberry moment). Again, it turned out differently to what I was going for, but I hope you still enjoy it :) Oh, and I stole the title from the song 'Strawberry Kisses'
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Raspberry Kisses
Jessica snuck a look over her shoulder to where Pam and Eric were writing up accounts at the bar. Well, Pam was trying to write up the accounts and Eric was doing his best to distract her which had resulted in a lot of giggling.
She smiled as she turned back to the tables she was clearing with Tara, "It's nice to see them so happy again."
Tara glanced briefly in their direction, a scowl on her face and Jessica suddenly remembered that Tara wasn't too keen on Eric. Even less so since he'd made up with Pam.
Tara had developed feelings for her Maker early on in their relationship, but she'd made the mistake of trying to replace Eric and had even gone so far as trying to actively split the pair apart.
In the end, Pam had released her and Tara blamed Eric for the rift between them; stubbornly refusing to see her own part in the incident.
Personally, Jessica had always found the bond they shared inspiring and she couldn't understand why Tara resented it so much. In many ways she thought Tara was better off released as it meant she could strike her own path.
Still, Jessica felt bad about bringing it up and she bit her lip, wondering if she should apologise or not.
"Maybe this time it will last," Tara commented bitterly, turning her attention back to stacking glasses onto the tray she held.
Jessica wondered how she should respond to Tara's comment, when the other vampire saved her from having to reply by moving onto the next table.
Jessica tossed another look over her shoulder and smiled as she watched Eric lean in, apparently intent on kissing Pam's cheek.
She clapped a hand over her mouth to hide her laughter as, instead of kissing her, he planted a loud raspberry on her cheek.
Eric's laughter filled the room as Pam picked up the ledger and started beating him over the head with it, looking torn between amusement and anger.
Jessica turned away, looking up guiltily at Tara as a giggle escaped.
Fortunately, Tara wasn't paying her any attention, she was watching the two older vampires interact with an unreadable expression on her face. Jessica felt some of her amusement fade away as she watched her.
Eric was always going to be the centre of Pam's world and nothing would ever change that. But she guessed that, for Tara, knowing it and seeing it were two very different things.
For her part, she was just happy to see things return to normal.
