Okay, so I know it's been a while since I published my first fanfiction and so I decided to put this one up. I have been obsessed with Death Note ever since I started the series and this was one of my first ideas when I was reading and watching it.

And, by the way, I will have more stories published soon. I have completed the writing part for several short stories and just have to revise them all (Ah, the processes of writing. Don't'cha just love it?). So just keep an eye out!

Enjoy the story!

There had been a question plaguing Light's mind ever since he began being around Ryuzaki.

Today, especially.

Light stares at Ryuzaki, trying to decide whether or not it would sound weird to ask.

After a while, Ryuzaki turned to face Light. "Yes? What is it?"

"Huh?"

"You've been staring at me for approximately 5 minutes now. Is there something that you need?"

"Oh, Uh…" Light frowns. "Fine. I was wondering: why are you always eating?"

"Oh, that?" Ryuzaki said, glancing at the table where a bowl of cherries sat. "It's quite simple. I cannot work as efficiently when I am hungry. My mental efficiency is drastically limited by 62% when I am hungry. Not to mention," he continued, tilting his head to the side," thinking requires a large amount of energy. Did you know that approximately 20% of a body's calories go towards thinking? And considering the fact that I think much more than the average person, my mind requires about twice that much."

Ryuzaki reaches and retrieves a cherry out of the bowl before placing it in his mouth. A moment later, he pulled it out of his mouth, the stem clean. "Plus, I just like to eat."

Light stared at Ryuzaki for a moment before blinking. "Okay, then." He turned back to his computer and resumed his work, though not before muttering, "Guess I didn't expect that."

A/N: So there you have it, folks! And that is why I believe our awesome genius is always eating. Sorry it was so short, though. I'll have to write a longer one about it.

By, the way, I appreciate feedback, so feel free to tell me your opinion.

See ya.
