"Jess, why won't you tell me what's up with you," Rory ask jess all the way to Luke's.

"Nothings up, Rory," he said, "hey do you want to go up stairs and you know."

"I can't. I have to study," Rory say

"Yeah, me too," jess say

"You're not going to study"

"ME! Oh I study all the time day, night. Even on weekends," jess says as he opens the door to Luke's.

"Yeah okay. So what are you doing for Christmas?"

"My dad said he was going to pick me up here, and take me out to sunny LA,"jess says.

"Cool, bye jess," Rory said as she walks way.

"What's this I hear about you going to see your dad on Christmas," Luke ask.

"Nothing, Luke," jess says as he runs up stairs.

The next morning Luke woke up at five. Jess woke up at seven and by time it was seven forty-five he was down stairs writing a letter to his dad that read:

Dear dad,

I can't wait to see you.

Also thanks for taking

Out of this town on

Christmas.

With love,

Jess

"Is that a letter to your dad," Luke asked

"Like I'm going to tell you," jess says

"I jess thought"

"I got school"

At school, jess is again battling the teacher; tell him he's wrong about the meaning of a book. Then he finds his self in the front office. Then who does jess see coming into the front office, no other then dean forester.

At first they say nothing to each other then dean says, "Why do you have to fight with the teachers ever day."

"It not my fault the teachers here are dummies," jess says.
