Hiding in Moonlight
1+2, Heero's POV
I saw you one summer's night
Dancing on the beach
Your chestnut blonde streaked silk surrounding you
I had so many questions
And looked so hard for the answers
Drenched in work and a girl I did not care for
I was still searching
In the dark light, you spun around and smiled
"The princess really doesn't suit you." Your voice chimed and shimmered as though it were a glistening waterfall
Taken aback by your response, I was silent
In your denim jeans and black t-shirt, you were the most gorgeous fey I had seen
As you pranced past me, you kissed my cheek
I regretted that silence, for I had finally seen my answers in your lavender eyes
I quit my job and told my high-class girl 'no' and met you again the very next night
You danced to a hundred, silent violins as the full moon shone silver streams upon you lithe form
I smiled
"The sun truly doesn't suit you." You smiled back, as sweet as honey.
"Ah, 'tis why we dance to the beat of the moon and the princess lounges to the dreary fire of day." You reached out your hand and I took it
It was small and soft, yet so capable to create a pull on the heart strings
We walked side by side, hand in hand by the light of the moon
As the sun rose high on the sky, we ran into the ocean with waves lapping obediently around your ankles
The shadows strayed far from the horrid light in which you bathed
We swam and sang and laughed and danced, no longer in the dark, though all the while awaiting for the moon's song, once again
