Blair's P.O.V.
"Mommy" Elisabeth calls out "is daddy going to be here for Santa?" I look upto see our daughter. Four years old with her father's eyes. "I hope so sweetie" I said. I really hope Chuck makes it home in time just like he promised both of us three weeks ago when he left on this business trip. I turn my head to look at the alarm clock on the bedside table and realize it is way past bed time for Elisabeth. "Oh goodness, honey its time for bed. You have to be a sleep for Santa to come." It was already past 10p.m., where has this day gone too.
With Elisabeth tucked into bed and fast a sleep, I finish up the rest of the gift wrapping and decide that maybe i should turn in for the night as well. As i climb into our bed I silently pray that my husband makes it home soon. Not being able to go to sleep immediately, I start to think of what Christmas morning would feel like without Chuck here and decide right then that all the gifts he has purchased for me wouldn't mean anything. He is all i want for Christmas. He will be the best Christmas gift. As i close my eyes and finally let sleep take over, I make a wish, I wish for my Chuck to be home for Christmas.
The next morning the sound of little feet on the hardwood is my alarm and I sit up in the bed waiting for the person who's feet are making that sound to come through the door. I giggle when Elisabeth comes into the room , jumping on the bed " Mommy, Santa Came!" she says with the biggest, brightest smile imaginable. " He did?" I ask looking at my daughter " Well did you see all of your gifts he left for you?"smiling at her as she jumps back down "Yes!" she says excitedly "but, he left you something too Mommy" I look down at her confused while tying my robe around me, but before I can say anything she grabs my hand and says "Come on Mommy, come see what you got".
Walking down the stairs into the family room i happen to see the most wonderful site in three whole weeks, a briefcase. I start running the rest of the way into the room to find my daughter smiling up at her father "see Mommy, I told you" she says and i can't help but laugh. Elisabeth runs over to play with a new doll as i walk over to Chuck, who is standing by our Christmas tree with a huge smile on his face. "Merry Christmas Blair" he says as i jump into his arms and kiss him with everything i have. Chuck returns the kiss just a passionately. As we break away from the kiss and he reaches for a gift I smile at him and say "you know my wish came true". "What wish?" Chuck asks. "You" I say " the one time i wished for anything this year was last night and it was that you would be here today" Chuck smiles and takes my hand in his " well here i am" he says looking me in the eyes "I know" I said " Thank you for making my only wish this year come true".
Ok thats it!!!!! I know it may be OOC but this was a lot of fun to write and with it being christmas time i could not resist. This is dedicated to all the Chair Crackheads of the NJBC....... I love you Beotches!
