I once was snow
But your love turned me to rain
I didn't want any part of you
I wanted to destroy you, cover you with my coldness
But you were stronger than that
Your heat overwhelmed me
Melted me down until I was reborn
You took my freezing hands into you pyre
I turned to a spring rain
Warm and replenished
You nestled within my icy gaze
Only to flourish renewed as you thawed me
I realized then
All I had ever wanted
Was to melt
And join you in your happiness

And led me down that summer path
I know now, I can never go back to snow
