*I walked though the door with you,
The air was cold,
But something about it felt like home.*
Wally walked in first, still holding Artemis' hand. She followed quickly. The air was freezing. The landlord, a man named Ronny, had already walked in.
"So this is the place. It's got one bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen, the living room and in the bathroom there's even a washer and dryer." He smiled warmly and led them to the kitchen. It was small, but big enough for the two of them. The fridge was pretty big for suck a small kitchen, Artemis knew Wally wouldn't mind that.
"So where you two going to collage? Stanford?" Ronny asked still keeping his face forward as he lead then thought the hallway.
"Yeah." Wally said while Artemis nodded. Ronny turned and nodded. "This is the bathroom." He opened the door to a small room that was painted a light yellow. It had a shower, no tub but that was okay.
The bedroom was a good size. It had two windows, that let in a lot of light. There was no furniture in any of the rooms, both Wally and Artemis had been saving up money for some time so if they had to buy somethings, they could.
Later on, Wally and Artemis decided that this would be their aparment. This took only a minimum amount of convincing from Wally's part. It was close enough to the college that they wouldn't have to buy a car to drive there.
Only two days later they were getting the last of the boxes into the house. All the furniture was already in the place, Dick had helped, and Artemis made sure it looked right.
She placed down the last box and put her hands on her hips smiling at the job they had done in only three hours. Wally stood quietly next to her before placing his hand around her waist. She turned to him and kissed him on the cheek. He smiled.
"So, " Hew turned to her with a smirk forming slowly, "Can we get a dog now?" He turned to her with pleading eyes. He truly looked like a five year old.
"Oh my god Wally." Artemis laughed lightly.
"Is that a yes or a no?" He asked impatiently.
"Yes Wally. We can get a dog." She smiled at the thought of a little puppy running around, or an old dog sleeping quietly on the couch.
"Yes!" Wally stood up and pumped his fist into the air happily, then placed a sloppy kiss of Artemis' cheek. She just shook her head. Sometime it was like taking care of a child.
For a place so small, so unfurnished, something about it felt like home.
