Shira's Story
"Father still hasn't come back and it's been almost a month!" Shira thought to herself curled up by the window at night as tears start to well up in her eyes. She hasn't heard from her father since the night of the Grandia Limatose. The Grandia Limatose is something spectacular that happens in her planet of Neburu. It happens every 365 years when the planets make a perfect circle around the life giver of everything, the Endnama. Without the Endnama, life would not exist in the universe. The people in Neburu are special beings. They have the ability to learn extremely fast and can use their minds to manipulate energy. The Neburians are also one of the most beautiful beings in the universe. Also the most successful.
"Mother! I miss father!" Shira sad getting ready to eat breakfast.
"I know you do honey," her mother said setting Shira's favorite food on the table," I do too." They start to eat silently. "Did you remember to pray to the Endnama this morning Shira? You know, if you don't the Endnama might get angry and take one of your abilities!"
"Yes mother, I did pray today! I always do. I don't get it though, I've been praying and father still hasn't come back. I don't get it though, praying to the Endnama gives you luck and I've been praying for father to come back so since that won't come true, I don't think there's any hope of father coming back!" replied Shira sobbing.
"Honey, don't say that! Father will come back! Just see! If he doesn't we'll just have to go get him ourselves then, right?" Her mother consoled.
"Right!" she said with confidence.
"Now, Finish your breakfast and I'll just get the mail." Her mother confirmed teleporting to the mailbox. I few min later, mother came back with a spark in her step and a glow in her eyes. "Shira!" her mother said anxiously, "You got a letter from your father!!" Shira practically flung the table food with her powers because of all the excitement.
"Let me see!" She got the envelope and so her father's name. Morimoto Naonda. She opened it and read the letter.
To my dear daughter and wife,
I miss you so much! I'm sorry I haven't been contacting you
lately. It is very hard to locate you and teleport this letter
to your mailbox. Well why I was gone, during the Grandia
Limatose was because the Endnama wanted me to do something for
them. They wanted me to go to planet Earth of the Solar System
and collect information. America is a great place! They have
all this technology as they call it! I'm enjoying this place!
I tasted this thing called pop or soda! It gives you a very
special feeling in your throat! I also watched this game that
they play on this rectangular screen where the people run around
kicking this spherical black and white ball and shoot it into
this white apparatus with many holes called a net!
"Mother, do they shoot it with a gun?" Shira asked "If so, is that probably why it has many holes?"
"I don't know honey! Just keep reading!"
Well I was wondering if you guys can live here with me! It's
way better than Neburu! I heard that Neburu is collapsing with
its economy. I just want you guys to come here so you can be
safe with me. When you come here, look for me in California
okay?
